Bio
Anabell was born in Caracas, Venezuela. Ever since she was little, she's had a remarkable musical talent. She started playing the organ at the age of 8, what she later on would study with the Venezuelan composer Renata Cedeño. Her music career really boosted after she moved to Germany at the age of 19. She started taking classes at the Maastricht Conservatorium in the Jazz Department with Frank Giebels and later on with Irv Rochlin. After nearly 2 years, she decides to move to Rotterdam, where she continues studying with J.L Hartong and Marc Bischoff and finishes the World Music study programme at the Rotterdam Conservatory. Here, she not only discovers what she really wanted for her piano-playing, but also her passion for percussion and drums. J.C "Bulu" Viloria, Gerardo Rosales and Marco Toro (great Venezuelan percussion players) are at this point not only her friends but also her biggest model into this learning process. Throughout these years, she has played in the Netherlands with the most important bands and artists in the Latin scene. She has become well known and has gained a great deal of experience. She has play in Venezuela, The Netherlands, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Austria, France, Denmark, Sweden, United Kingdom, Cyprus etc… Today, she is the band leader of her own two bands. Cheverón is a very new and refreshing salsa band with the strength of old-fashioned salsa music and the kick and push of funk and pop. And Sonando, a Women Salsa Band where she plays timbales and directs. People and Bands I've played or recorded with: Adinda Meertins, Adir Kochavi, Agnes Petkute, Alberto Caicedo, Alfredo Pechler, Armando Vidal, Astrid Pulles, Bart Lust, Bart Normaan, Beatriz Aguiar, Bulu Viloria, Candy Dulfer, Charanga La Crisis, Chevere (2001), Cheveron, Christian Ferhe, Claudia Cassier, Claudia Valenzuela, Cuata, Daniel Patriazs, David Rottschield, Def P, Dominique Braqueva, Elena Gonzales, FP La Banda, Francisco Pena, Gerardo Rosales con Trombones, Gerardo Rosales y su Sonora, Gerardo Rosales y su Trabucombo, Gregorio Rangel, Guzel Akhmetzina, Herben Kleinwillig, Jacqueline Castro, Javier Plaza, Jeannet de Jager, Jens Kerkhof, Jesus Hernandez, Joe Rivera, Jonathan Badichi, Jose Perez, Kalin Veliov, Konstantin Klashtorni, Leslie Lopez, Lisbeth Anker, Liesbeth List, Lisi Torres, Lucas van Merwijk,, Maite Hontele, Marco Toro, Martin Verdonk, Mathias Haffner, Michael Roerbi, Michael Simons, Mick Pauwe, Miguel Montenegro, Molote, Monica Triga, Nando Vanin, Nicole de Zabala, Niels Fisher, Only Ladies Jazz Quartet, Pauliina May & Latin Feelin', Ramon Aular, Ramon Balderas & The Bolero Queens, Randy Winterdal, Santanico, Sonando, Steve Mariat, Thomas Boettcher, Toro Ensamble, Udo Demant, Yma America, And many more... -
