ANALOG arts ensemble
Baltimore – Brussels – Cleveland – Los Angeles – Nagoya – New York – Omaha
ANALOG arts ensemble is a nonprofit network of contemporary artists and musicians presenting concerts and events around the world. The collective’s current membership includes thirty international artists, with backgrounds ranging from chamber music to animation and filmmaking to composition.
Drawing upon its roots in classical music, ANALOG’s programs consistently edge classical music into new terrain through their juxtapositions of seemingly incompatible pieces, unexpected arrangements, nontraditional venues, and compositions by emerging artists. An ANALOG concert event can take almost any form, from a soloist performing for 12 hours straight to a chamber orchestra revamping a Baroque opera.
ANALOG’s signature event is ARTSaha!, Omaha’s only new music festival. Now celebrating its fifth year, ARTSaha! is a world-class contemporary music festival designed specifically for Omaha audiences. The festival is presented in partnership with the University of Nebraska at Omaha and with the support of a broad range of local businesses and cultural institutions. ARTSaha! was recognized in 2005 by The Reader as one of the cultural highlights of the year.
ANALOG’s reach is furthered by its active and extensive web presence. With well over one million hits, ANAblog is well-known for its unfailingly eclectic selection of music, trenchant commentary, and support of new artists and avant-garde arts events. ANALOG also provides business consulting services to startup nonprofits and independent artists.
Formed in 2001 by two trumpet players who sought to continue their creative collaboration, though separated by some 400 miles, ANALOG’s first performance took place in a one-room stone church deep in the Maryland countryside. It now stages several concerts and events each year under the co-artistic direction of Joseph Drew, and Marcia & Rudolf Kamper. ANALOG’s primary areas of activity are Omaha, Baltimore, and New York City.
