Analog Method began in the summer of 2001 when college friends, keyboardist Dan Shure, and drummer Mike Walsh got together one day to improvise and share some groove ideas. Inspired by the music they created that day, the sessions continued. Soon after, bassist Andy Dow was added and Analog Method was born. Analog Method was further then augmented by the addition of tenor sax player Sean Berry as well as guitarist Jason Yost. When Andy Dow moved to Europe, bassist Chris Beam came on board. In 2004 this lineup recorded the studio album "Night Rider." Since that time, Analog Method has transformed from a five piece acid-jazz/fusion band to a keys, bass, and drums trio focused on playing live progressive house, drum'n bass, downtempo, acid-jazz, 2-step, etc. Analog Method now focuses on creating the progressive sound and infectious feel of groove-based electronica that can only come from a “live” band.
Since 2001 Analog Method has performed through out the Northeast at venues such as The Lion's Den in NYC, Club Metronome in Burlington, VT, The Middle East in Boston, Tazza Caffe in Providence, RI, The Stone Church in Newmarket, NH, and The Press Room in Portsmouth, NH. Currently, Dan, Mike, and Chris continue to lay down and develop their distinct blend of hard deep house, ambient downtempo, and kinetic drum'n bass. Most recently, Mike Effenberger of Send and Elliptical Ferns has joined the trio as a special guest on keys and Moog.
Currently Analog Method is dormant. Hopefully some new sounds will eventually emerge in the not too distant future!
