I'm a Leeds-based Hip-Hop Scratch DJ/ Turntablist, also known to deviate in the direction of D&B, Grime, DubStep, Funk, Soul, Reggae, R&B and anything else that takes my fancy.
I've played sets at loads of nights in Leeds and the surrounding area and am always happy to find somewhere new to play out.
One of the blog posts on this MySpace page lists most of my previous sets - which have included support slots for DJ Premier, Skinnyman, Asaviour, Taskforce, Broke'N'English and DJ Format - along with competitions I've been in and appearances on record.
I've recorded cuts on a few tracks and am currently working on my own material... more details to follow.
I am the Lead Writer for Hip-Hop Content at Traffic, an online magazine covering Electronic Music and Club Culture in the North of England. Writers and Photographers interested in getting involved can contact myself or get in touch with the magazine's Creative Director Richard Silk via the website.
I also have my own blog "Straight Out Leodis" at straightoutleodis.blogspot.com, which mostly covers music and nightlife but also veers off on a tangent at my whim, and have written for the following publications and websites:
- UKHH.com
- BritishHipHop.co.uk
- Leeds Hip Hop Scene
- No Title Magazine
Check the blog or the Straight Out Leodis MySpace for details.
In the past I've put out a show on HHBRadio.com, showcasing local Hip-Hop talent and playing the best tunes from around the world. You can still catch a Leeds show by either Ant Black (Lyrically Justified) or Agent M (Invizible Circle) on the station every Thurday night at 9pm.
More details and archived show downloads are available at myspace.com/hhbleeds - and look out for the likely return of the Straight Out Leodis show in a very special format over the next few months.
