I used to have this whole bio about how I was born & raised at Somethin' Else Records but that just got depressing because the store's been closed for years now.
hey, again. Your songs are really catchy. "you'll go running" and "love song for caroline" creep into my head at the oddest times. And by the way, No i'm not an avid listener of folky/chick rock/Sarah machauglin (?) music, but a catchy tune is a catchy tune.
hey thanks so much for accepting the request! i know i only have a few clips from my rehearsal hall on here at the moment, but soon enough when i find the time I will post pieces in their entirety!
Thats good to hear. Garbage bedroom recording are where its at. The Black Tie Party sound pretty fucking sweet. Like a legit raw garage 70-ish punk. Good stuff. Is that what you do like full time?
Nah, as SE closed so did my friendship with everyone there. Me (and sometimes people I brought along) used to come in there everyday to hang out, listening to music and such. I blame my broad music tastes on Joshua and SE.
I haven't talked to Joshua in a pretty long while. I don't know why I chose now to go soul searching, but he told to always keep in contact with him about any music I was playing. Oh well.
With out SE I would have no idea who Crawling Chaos, Material Issue, The Shins, Sonic Youth were.
Again, if you every decide to bite the bullet and go back into music, make sure you keep me in the loop. What do you do with out music? Max
Hey Ana! Just been listening to the tunes properly at last and they sound great.Shame about Somethin Else closing.that's my dream job, record stores are magical places,or should be,not like the big souless ones like HMV.I've seen a few of these small shops disappear the last few years,it's sad.I just can't digitally download music,it's not the same.
So, this may seem kind of weird but, when I was younger I used to always hang out in Somthin' Else Records with Joshua and once in a while you would stop in and talk to him while I was there. In like 2005 0r 06 Joshua gave me a copy REDUX to burn onto my computer. Listening to Marianne and Alone is NYC made me want to play music. To this day, I have (secretly) kept in loop of your music.
Anyways..., My band (and I) would love to play a show with you some time.
I really love your music! - Max Epstein Darn Dog and the Meddling Kids
