   The Antichristian's Blurbs
About me:
I'm an Agnostic. That doesn't mean I ride the fence on whether or not to believe in a god. It means I'm a scientist at heart and I have a good, solid theory for why god doesn't exist (or doesn't have anything to do with us if god does exist) just like Darwin had a good solid theory for the evolution of life on earth. Any good theory makes predictions that come true. So far, my theory's predictions have all come true, but as a true scientist, I will continue to seek to prove my hypothesis false. I'm always excited to find evidence either direction about the existence of a creator, but, to date, I've not found anything that would compel me to believe in a god. Most "evidence" provided is "The Bible says..." or "I feel..." or "My experience..." and there's nothing material to back it up, which compels me to ask, If god is real and god wants relationship, why is god hiding? The best evidence against a personal god, the all-powerful, all-knowing, all-good god of Christianity, Islam, and Mormonism is the behavior of their followers themselves (especially American Christians - the modern day "Fat Cows of Bashan") who, like the Pharisees and Saducees of Jesus' day, miss the message by turning their philosophies of love into legalism and failing to serve the causes their god is reportedly so committed to. The best evidence against the Bible as the "inerrant word of god" are its contradictions and unoriginal doctrines ("borrowed" from previous religions). There's also the fact that these were oral traditions, passed on by word of mouth only, for thousands of years before someone decided to write down the most modern telephone version. The best evidence against the Koran is its singular source, a man who heard voices, and it's oral tradition, like the Old Testament, that carried it on for decades until the source died and men finally came together to write down the best version they could all agree upon. It's also interesting to note that Muhammad, the source of the Koran, was well-versed in the Tanakh as he believed the angel Gabriel was giving him a continuing testament of the works of the god of Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. In fact, like Joseph Smith, he believed god had chosen him to carry on the one true work and word of god. Speaking of Mormonism, the best evidence against the Book of Mormon is also its singular source, Joseph Smith, who used magic glasses to translate golden tablets that mysteriously disappeared. There is argument over whether or not it's authentic, but some believe they found a piece of the tablets Smith "translated" and that they were actually from the Egyptian Book of the Dead; ironically, a popular source for much of Jewish law written in the Old Testament although the authors didn't "fake" a translation. They just unknowingly plagiarized the source materials like the authors of the Genesis story who...erm..."borrowed" from other ancient creation stories. And there you have my breakdown of the world's most popular monotheistic religions all inspired by the same sources, but spreading oddly different messages (proof itself that no god, but only men and a few women inspired these texts). Now, religious masses and Atheists, all! Welcome! I'm happy to hear your points as I'm always looking for that elusive god. But please. No appeals to emotion (i.e. "You're gonna burn in hell.") or circular reasoning ("The Bible says God exists and God wrote the Bible, so there!"). It's silly and it betrays your ignorance. I appreciate good, solid arguments for or against the existence of a god. Thanks. Prayer Pictures, Images and Photos

Who I'd like to meet:
Buddha, Jesus, Muhammed, and anyone else taken out of context and elevated to the level of diety after their deaths. I'd love to hear their responses to the distortions of their actions and thoughts recorded on Earth after their demises. Zombie Jesus Pictures, Images and Photos

Thanks for the addition. Please take the time to trip through my blogs for snippets of my new book. What I posted is just the tip of the iceberg for the protagonist, who is about to discover he was, quite against his will, temporarily promoted to the position of Creator. Very sacrilegious. Plus, later on, there is a Holy War whose outcome is liable to spark controversy (hint: the Atheists win, and I guarantee it's not how you think)

Oh, you know, school, changing my major, fighting with my boyfriend, being ignored by my girlfriend, making plans for thanksgiving with my psychotic family.

The usual.

What about you?

I'm doing well. Sorry for being so out of the loop. I took a promotion at my job and have been working so much that I barely have time to eat and sleep, it seems, let alone get on the computer. We did okay in the storm -- we lost a fence and a tree, but that was about it.
How are you and Andi?

My thoughts? Consumerism is now biting everyone in the butt! We're seeing a huge correction from people overextending themselves financially for years. How much useless crap does a person need to fill their overly large home? I truly think the levels of consumerism that have become common in this country are a form of people wanting to live in fantasyland rather than reality. I really don't get why people would rather work so much harder at maintaining delusion than do the little bit of work it takes to adjust to reality.

Wow, thanks for letting me rant! :-)
