Derek- guitar, piano, vocals, and bass, and registered supporter of Stephen Colbert and the Colbert nation. (I love Doritos)
Trey- Co-Founder and drummer on both of the current albums. He can now acts in various plays put on by Avenue 10 so hit them up and grab some culture yoast!
Lynsi- almost anything orchestral on any album will be her work, you can see her perform as a violinist in the Amarillo symphony.
You guys- I've been assited by many other people in the production and promotion of the various projects associated with this band but none have helped me more than my incredibly loyal and freaking amazing fans. I would not be able to do this if not for your support so thank you all so much!
John Stossel- backup vocals on tracks 11, 15, and 2 on the first album.
The Trix Rabbit- Makes a rare but noteworthy appearance if you leave the newest CD on the crest of the hill that leads to the Walmart forrest at 3 AM after a light rain shower. He will appear for only a moment as the sun begins to rise singing "Ain't No Mountain High" and carrying a ladel. Special thanks to Malcolm Reynolds for pointing out this interesting tidbit.
Influences
Frank Sinatra, Third Eye Blind, New Rome, Spiderman, Spill Canvas, Dashboard Confessional, John Mayer, etc. etc
Sounds Like
If Frank Sinatra had a baby with Brand New and dropped it so they stole another persons baby and named it An Autumn Rain (really weird name for a baby, you can bet it got made fun of in school)
What started as a fun hobby in parking lots and awkward social situations (bar mitzvahs, 3rd weddings, divorce proceedings and various open houses) has progressed into something much bigger: sweeping fanship amongst the various members of our alcoholics community.
I knew the band had hit it big when a man, more than slightly inebriated and sporting the kind of T-shirt they give away at blood drives boasting enough stains to get the oxy clean guy(Billy Mays) all kinds of riled up, stumbled to the stage and said these words:
"do freebird".
I'll never forget that moment, that rush. Since the sweeping success from my second CD I've taken time to relax and get back to my roots. I still play the occasional bar mitzvah, and actually try to get in as many shows at the local zoo as I can, those giraffes love their acoustic rock. I hope you enjoy what you hear as much as my four legged, long necked friends and maybe I'll see you at a bar mitzvah soon!
IIIIIIIIIIII, in my ever so humble opinion, think you should write a blog. Speak oh, An Autumn Rain, impart you wisdom. =) Seriously, you haven't blogged in fo'eva.
Funny story...a chick I work with is pregnant and is trying to figure out a name...well I guess she read about your band some where and wants to name her child Autumn Rayn...or something like that lol
Oh well that's just soooo great, I'll just suddenly move to Amarillo right away. Oh wait, there's school to go to & that whole fact that I have to not lose my job...
