    Hcrazy's CSI:Miami - Ducaine

    <------------------oxoxo------------------>
When not filming, Emily Procter enjoys interior decorating, performing with her new band, playing poker, and working with various charities for the homeless.

    SCHOOLS
Emily Mallory Procter graduated from Ravenscroft in 1986, having attended the School since Kindergarten. Emily served as head cheerleader as a senior, and also competed in varsity soccer (9-12) and swimming (9-11). Her flair for the dramatic began early, as she took part in the fall play her freshman through junior years. Since 2002, Emily has co-starred on "CSI: Miami" in the role of Detective Calleigh Duquesne. She also played attorney Ainsley Hayes for two seasons on the Emmy and Golden Globe-winning show "The West Wing." Despite her busy Hollywood schedule, Emily has maintained her ties with Ravenscroft, and returned as the graduation speaker for commencement exercises in 2003. Emily is also involved in a number of projects for charity, and notes that doing charity work is "what makes me happiest." Emily's father, William I. Procter '45, received the Distinguished Alumni Award in 1994, making the Procters the first parent-child duo to receive this prestigious honor.

EMILY AT ANDREE AGASSI CHARITABLE FOUNDATION'S GALA 2007

This was the 7th Grand Slam for actress Emily Procter, who also happened to be in town celebrating her birthday. After seven years, I have seen a lot of the kids grow up and get older, she told us outside on the red carpet. Every year they come and they'll talk about their dreams and how they've changed. There is one child - and I have seen him ever since he was tiny - and every year he comes and says 'I am gonna be President.' And every year I think 'I believe you and I will vote for you.' Because it is all just so inspiring how hard they work to become the people they want to be."

From SELF Celeb Scoop February 8, 2008
Tales of Emily's grandmother Emily first realized just how similar she was to her grandmother when the latter revealed her daily prayer. Every morning, she'd say: "God, please let me remember that my opinion is just that and I don't have to share it. Just let me be easy today." Then every night she'd say, "God, I'm so sorry I let you down."
The contents of Emily's fridge She doesn't like to cook, so what does she keep on hand? Only beer and 4 pounds of fancy cheese (a gift), which, she says, has turned her into a cheese snob. Cheddar's not so great after you've indulged in a wheel of Gouda.
Emily's colorful past Though today she believes in the less-is-more look, back in the day, Emily truly embraced the '80s more-is-more trend: kohl-rimmed eyes, multiple shades of eyeshadow, streaky cheeks, lined lips—the works. After doing all her friends' makeup for the prom, most of the parents made the girls wash it off before they left. And when she did a friend's makeup for her wedding, the woman cried—and not tears of joy.

When you're at a shoot with a celebrity, the best-case scenario is that you have an hour or so built into the schedule for a quiet, one-on-one interview. When SELF photographed Emily Procter in L.A., we had so little time that the photographer could barely fit in all of his shots. Where did that leave me? Kneeling on the floor at Emily's feet, asking questions—and trying to stay out of the way—as a three-person beauty team combed, curled, blushed, glossed and polished her. But instead of being distracted, Emily was chatty, funny and focused, even over the loud whirl of the blow-dryer. (Lucky for me!)
In the end, having the extra people around helped the story. Creighton and Miriam are her usual hairstylist and makeup artist, so they've all become close. Tessa, SELF's West Coast editor, was there, too, and she's known Emily for years. Hanging out with them was like being with friends primping for the prom. I got loads of material and a great sense of how warm, friendly and totally un-diva-ish Emily really is. She even called the manicurist's dad after hearing he's a big fan of CSI: Miami. —Beth Janes

Interview: Emily Procter: CSI: Miami Star by Scott Juba Published: November 7, 2005

It wasn't long ago that Emily Procter worked as a local TV weathergirl in North Carolina. Since then, her television exposure has increased considerably. She currently stars in CSI: Miami, one of the nation's top-rated crime dramas. “Humans like mystery, and it’s fun to solve the puzzle,” she says of the show’s acclaim.
Procter credits much of CSI: Miami’s success to the great camaraderie the cast and crew share. “I’m amazed by our crew,” she says. “I look at that show, and I just think, I cannot believe they make this show look like this. If you saw the collection of hooligans, you would be so impressed with them. [Laughs]. They are, without a doubt, hilarious. It is a cast of characters. We have a great time. I laugh an extraordinary amount. But we went through a lot of years not laughing to try to figure out how to do it. I am amazed by the people that I work with – by their work ethic and their amount of character and their ability to stay consistently good with one another, even under that amount of pressure.”
“I almost wish we had a behind the scenes episode, although I guess people would not be that interested in it,” she says with a laugh. “Whenever people on the street watch us film the show, they walk away and say, ‘We never had any idea that’s what your actual relationships are.’ They are so polar-opposite of what viewers see. The new guy, Jon Togo, he and I spend a lot of time off-screen either ballroom dancing or punching each other. [Laughs]. And David [Caruso] is so kind and sweet in a sensitive way, and I don’t think that’s what people would expect of him, either.”
Despite the great rapport she shares with her co-workers and CSI: Miami’s consistently high ratings, Procter never takes her accomplishments for granted. “I’m just sort of always thinking that [acting] isn’t going to work out,” she says. “I think if you ever get too comfortable at anything [it’s dangerous]. You know, I wouldn’t want to be flying with a pilot who’s like, ‘Hey, I got it down.’ [Laughs]. But then there’s a part of me that’s like, oh my gosh, can you just quit making back up plans?”
While Procter enjoys her celebrity status, she says Hollywood life is much different than she imagined it would be. “In all honesty, I think I sort of thought it was going to be really fancy, and that I was going to spend a lot of time lounging about,” she remarks lightheartedly. “That hasn’t really happened. The only thing that’s happened is that when I’m out sometimes, people will be like, ‘Hey, I know you.’ Then I feel really bad, because I think maybe I should have on a fancier outfit.”
Procter finds that although fans recognize her on the street, they confuse her real life personality with the personality of her on-screen character. “People have been really nice to me,” she says. “Although, the other day I was getting some breakfast and this guy working behind the counter was like, ‘Hey, you’re on CSI. My mom and I watch that show all the time. We love it.’ And I was like, ‘Hey man, thanks.’ And he’s like, ‘Oh, you’re so nice in person.’ So, for like an hour I was thinking, “Am I a brat [on the show]? [Laughs].”
A brat? Far from it. Humble and down to earth, Procter’s real life personality is as genuine as her on-screen talent.

    - Annie Livingstone as Virginia Ann Johnson

They played their first gig on May 18th 2005 at the club Largo in L.A. - other performances are unknown to me....

    - Heart - Barracuda
    - Styx - Lady
    - Bette Midler - The Rose

Here's an excerpt from the 'Letter from Emily' (May 2005), in which she told her fans about 'White Lightning':

[...]my band White Lightning takes the stage for the first time May 18th in Hollywood. For those of you who don't know, White Lightning is a rock band that I've put together that tells love stories through power ballads. If you love teased hair, tight pants, and anything to do with the 80s, then you might love White Lightning. The might is because I can't sing but hopefully the show will be funny and that won't matter so much.[...]

One more excerpt from an Inside TV interview:

"The whole idea for the band started while I was singing along to songs with a friend in my car on the way to Palm Springs," she told Inside TV. "I've never actually sang onstage before, so it should be fun. I've just got to fit it in somewhere between shooting a feature film and flying to London to visit some friends."
    credits to Leela

As a good southern belle, Emily is in love with Country music. Emily was asked to pick her 5 favorite Country songs. She came up with 42 songs, but made a decision in the end:

    - George Jones - He Stopped Loving Her Today (1980)
    - Louvin Brothers - When I Stop Dreaming (1955)
    - Ronee Blakley - Dues (1975)
    - Sammie Smith - Help Me Make It Through The Night (1970)
    - Tanya Tucker - Delta Dawn (1972)

About that last song she said: "Mom has a recording of me singing 'Delta Dawn'."

About me:

Hi, We are Lusiana, Randie and Flo. A team. We work together to keep this little place clean and confortable for all of you who want to join this fanproject and just relax here with us, chatting and drinking tea... "An award for Emily" fanproject was born in April 2008, when two crazy friends decided that they want to share their ideas about their favorite actress and TV show. We were shocked by the idea that such a wonderful person and actress hasn't still been rewarded with a really deerved award. A few sentences on the most crowded emily procter's fan places on the net: www.talk.csifiles.com and www.emilyprocter.de and we realized that someone was interested in our ideas. Sharing has been the first step of a wonderful experience which led us to meet a lot of people, new friends and great helping hands. Everyone who has joined this project has done it freely and without constrictions, there is no need of big things to be helpful, the most beautiful ideas so far came up from simple relaxed chats. The first aim of this project is being "aggressively friendly" just like Emily.
We all hope you'll enjoy being here, in this little space. Don't be afraid to leave a comment or send a message. We will be happy to know what you think.

Who I'd like to meet:

A gorgeous, perky blond with milky white skin, a petite figure and a snappy twang, Emily Procter has built a strong career out of her Steel Magnolia-style Southern charm. When the Raleigh, North Carolina, native tried to get into the theater department at East Carolina University, they told the future “CSI: Miami” star that they were full. Procter studied journalism and dance instead and got a job as a weather girl on the Greenville CBS affiliate while working on her degrees. She moved to Los Angeles after graduation and her father paid for her acting classes for two years. Her first Hollywood speaking role was an appearance in Tobey Maguire’s extremely short-lived series “Great Scott” (Fox, 1992). The former sorority girl and soup kitchen volunteer ironically got early breaks with a small role in “Leaving Las Vegas” (1995) and an appearance that year on NBC’s powerhouse sit-com “Friends.” Procter then made a string of TV guest appearances, including “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman” and “Early Edition.” She also played an anchorwoman on a 1997 episode of the NBC sit-com “Just Shoot Me." Her movie credentials quickly started piling up with a role as one of Tom Cruise’s ex-girlfriends in “Jerry Maguire” (1996), followed by a part in the well-reviewed HBO movie “Breast Men” (1997) opposite David Schwimmer. In the film, two plastic surgeons (Schwimmer and Chris Cooper) pioneer silicone breast implants—Procter plays the object of Schwimmer’s desire who becomes first his patient and then his wife and partner. The film includes eyebrow-raising shots of Procter before and after a staged augmentation. The first shot is the real Emily Procter, while the second is a CGI-enhanced shot of her upper body. The late 90s brought many movie roles Procter’s way, including: “The Girl Gets Moe” (1997) with Tony Danza, the telepic “The Dukes of Hazzard: Reunion” (1997): “Family Plan” (1998) with Leslie Nielsen, Judge Reinhold and Joely Fischer; the indie “Kingdom Come” (1999) and the well-reviewed “Guinevere” (1999) as one of Stephen Rea's many former students/paramours. Proctor played Whitney, the cool dance club employee, in “Body Shots” (1999), the underwhelming graphic 90s dating expose with Amanda Peet, Sean Patrick Flannery, Tara Reid. She then appeared in the hair industry mockumentary “The Big Tease” (1999) and “Forever Fabulous” (2000) with Jean Smart. Her star rose to new heights in 2000, when she joined “The West Wing,” cast in a breakout role as the endearingly ultra-verbal, tough-minded aide Ainsley Hayes, the lone Republican on Jeb Bartlett’s White House staff, as well as the only potential love interest to ignite real sparks with Rob Lowe’s character, Sam Seaborn. As Ainsely provided a conservative political counterpoint to the left-leaning main characters, many “West Wing” fans mourned her quick and unexplained departure following the 2002 season. Off-screen, Procter’s star was on the rise: she soon reappeared as the gorgeous, tough, gun-toting Detective Calleigh Duquesne on the forensic franchise spin-off “CSI: Miami” (CBS, 2002 - ), a role that made her a household name, particularly after her character received more screen time following first-season lead Kim Delany’s departure. She next co-starred alongside Martin Lawrence in “Big Momma’s House 2” (2006), playing a clueless Southern belle who hires the FBI agent disguised as Big Momma to be a nanny to her children.
Away from performing, Procter has also enjoyed a successful career as an interior designer, making over many elite homes.

Biography by Hollywood.com

She participated in 2007's LiveEarth by reading (along with several other actresses) an essay written by Michelle Gardner-Quinn while Gardner-Quinn was a student at the University of Vermont.
