Bio:

“Genius…just Genius” BBC Introducing

Anchor and The Wolf are an exciting mismatch of musicians from a variety of musical backgrounds. Collectively they create a grand and emotional sound with a foundation of touching and warm lyrics. Totally encapsulating, their ‘cinematic folk-pop’ takes influence from Sigur Ros, Noah and the Whale, Bon Iver and Arcade Fire, whilst bringing something completely new and unique to the table..

As well as captivating audiences across the country through appearances at a number of high profile venues, they have recently supported fellow rising bands: Out like a Lion, Bronze Medal and Life in Film. Members have also supported established acts such as; Bombay Bicycle Club, Stornoway and Hadouken.

The BBC Wiltshire introducing 'favourites' are swiftly building up a name for themselves around the UK.
‘Anchor and The Wolf produce sweet folk pop out of ukulele, acoustic guitar and glockenspiel that makes your heart feel a little lighter and the days a little better...Trampolines and Chandeliers is a dreamy, velvety piece of work’ - Breaking More Waves

‘By taking an obvious folk base, adding in cinematic soundscapes and occasionally entering into wonderful, spiralling, guitar breaks they have created something truly unique, a real folk renaissance’ - Ocelot Magazine

‘With lead singer; Zoes hauntingly beautiful voice, coupled with the up-beat, yet slightly distorted guitar, rhythmic bass and drums they have definitely created something you could get lost in...ones to watch for 2011’ - MusicGlos Magazine

‘Grabs hold of your heart and squeezes until there's not a single drop of emotion left in it’ - Sam Lee, Swindon Advertiser

‘Anchor and the Wolf seem to be pushing a few boundaries, mixing up folky pop vibes with a wash of cinematic soundscapes and the occasional burst of post-rock attitude.’ - Green Man Music
