For four-part Quartet harmony, delivered with sincerity and experience, you need to look no further than the ANCHORMEN, a group of young men based in Goldsboro, NC. The dedication they demonstrate has been evident with feedback from their performances such as “electrifying”, “energetic”, “great quartet harmony” and “such fine, dedicated young men”!
Growing up near “Mayberry, NC”, Keith Casstevens, a pastor’s kid, cut his teeth listening to quartet music. After joining his first group at just 12 years old, he realized singing would be a part of his life forever. He managed his own group for years before joining the ANCHORMEN in 2006. His powerful lead voice and warm personality make him a fan favorite everywhere he goes. His days at home, you can usually find Keith doing the “Honey Do” list and spending time with his wife and their three children.
Tenor Karl Rice, from Charleston, SC, started singing with his dad at 10 years old. Other experience includes a Major in Vocal Performance at the School of the Arts in SC as well as traveling with regional groups before coming aboard with the ANCHORMEN. His amazing tenor voice, harmonica playing and emcee work brings audiences to their feet everywhere they perform. During his downtime, you can find him enjoying time with his family and playing around with acoustic instruments such as the guitar, dobro, and mandolin.
Michael Bartlett brings years of experience to the ANCHORMEN. Raised a preacher’s kid, he was exposed to all sorts of Christian music throughout his life. He has a Bachelor of Science Degree in Church Music from Southwestern Christian University in Oklahoma City, OK. Before joining the ANCHORMEN, he traveled with “One Voice”, a progressive music ministry team. His experience in various types of Christian music helps make an ANCHORMEN concert appealing to all ages. On his days off, Michael enjoys writing his music and fishing.
Bass vocal Paul Harkey grew up singing most of his life in his home state of TX. He was heavily influenced by great bass singers such as J.D. Sumner, George Younce, Tim Riley, and Richard Sterban just to name a few. Audiences are captivated by Paul’s deep, rich voice every night. After graduating from Wayland Baptist University in Plainview, TX with a Music Degree, he became minister of music in Lovington, NM before joining the ANCHORMEN. Paul is single and enjoys dirt bike riding during his free time.
