National Centrism.....so what is it?
Well, like most things with in life, it's both simple and not-so-simple.
In one respect it's little more than where most Americans claim to be.
(most citizens identify themselves as moderates who take a center position - ideologicaly beholden to neither left or right wing philosophy)
This has always been regarded as plain american common sense....
so here national centrism reflects little more than good old fashioned american pragmatism.
Policies should be dictated by their effectiveness and the ability to help the majority of the population.
(Does it work? Is it practical? Does it meet the needs of the majority of citizens?)
So far this doesn't sound much different from what centrism does already exist.
Yet there are some subtle but important differences......
Most moderates by their very nature are...well....moderate. This is what is needed when considering policies
but becomes a weakness when faced with powerful (corporate) and obnoxious (republican/democrat) enemies.
It is also useless when the party who usually fights for these same principles (democrats) are owned by these same power brokers/lobbyists.
As a result national centrism presents itself as a 'radical' center.
Militant buddhists if you will....
willing to forcefully expose the dangers threatening our republic and enforce the will of the people.
It also serves as a way of bringing ALL disaffected citizens together to work as a united front,
aggressively pursuing the true american ideals.
(most independent politicians have no supporting philosophy).....
there is, of course, more to it than that as you shall see............
The purpose of the ANCP is to be a vehicle for the disaffected american citizen to take back control of a govt which no longer serves its needs.
The long awaited 'third party' as it were....the Third Way between liberalism and conservatism -
whose stated intention is to free politics from the clutches of the overpowerful corporations
and the parasitic pols and parties who serve as their agents and allies..
to pursue policies that reflect the interests of the middle and lower classes....
the workers, the unions and all those who have been abandoned by the ruling elite....
(and it is an elite, comprising no more than 2% of the country's population)..
This is somewhat of a revolutionary party.....not in the sense of advocating violence and uprisings, but rather in its utter and complete unconventionality
one hallmark of the ANCP is Iconoclasm or Demystification....the ability to 'cut through the crap' as it were....a willingness to open peoples' eyes' as to how they have been so long used and manipulated by issues that are not even political in nature
(take abortion for one)
we are a POLITICAL not SOCIAL party....
this may sound odd since many of our policies have a direct impact on society but it is essential that we maintain a stance that we only deal with issues that have a true political basis - not a 'purely' social one..
Another hallmark is our willingness to completely abandon 'conventional' political wisdom...
we will not be constrained to doing things 'as they're supposed to be done'..we will play by our OWN rules, not theirs..
We will speak our minds (and that's another hallmark - no Centrist will ever read a written script - all speaking must be from the heart and on the spot)
and will say what we feel is needed to be said, regardless if it offends some peoples' sensibilities........
in a time when americans are simply beginning to tune out most pols because they pretty much know what they are going to say anyway....one should never underestimate the potential popularity of saying unexpected and even sometimes shocking things......
people are sick of pols not speaking to them as real people and are now looking for someone to simply speak the truth...even if it's ugly......
another unconventional hallmark is the very nature of the party itself.....
It will be , at first, an internet based national entity....
none of this decades- long, grass roots building slog for us....
we will simply bring as many people together through the web and use our connections to then isolate 'trouble spots' in the country
where we can then concentrate our energies....
in other words, instead of having to be in the right place at the right time we can sit back, well informed,
and simply be prepared to strike wherever the best opportunity arises....
...not exactly a 'revolution from above' or 'below' but rather from the 'side'.......
Another hallmark is our 'total transparency'...
.we will not be sponsored by any corporate affiliates or special interest groups and will always open our files and business records to any and all enquiries
the people must believe that we mean what we say when we talk of ridding politics of these infernal machinations........
public trust is everything and we will always be honest, upfront and will hide nothing from the public view.....
even our failings..
Who I'd like to meet: All of our fellow citizens who find themselves concerned that our Government is no longer 'For and Of the People'..
And what's more, those who are willing to DO something about it......
