Harold Burgon has been working with music and sound since he was guitarist with the Dave Travis Bad River Band in 1971.
He designed and built his first recording studio, Hook End Manor studio in Checkendon Oxfordshire, for Alvin Lee (Ten Years After) in 1972. Now owned by Sarm it is considered the finest studio in Britain

During the 70’s Harold recorded with Alvin Lee (keyboards and sound engineer on 'Pump Iron'), Ten Years After, (engineer and vocals on 'Positive Vibrations' and engineer on 'In Flight' ), George Harrison, Jim Capaldi, Mick Fleetwood, Gary Brooker, Ronnie Wood, Steve Winwood, Alan Spenner (Joe Cocker Band) Ian Wallace (King Crimson drummer), Tim Hinkly, FBI with Root Jackson, Frankie Corillo, Horselips ( Live in Dublin).
In 1976 Harold became Head of Sound Recording for Mainos TV, Finland and went on to be commissioning engineer for Soundtrack Studios, Helsinki and Music Producer for R.C.A.
In the 80’s Harold back in London Harold designed a recording studio for Brixton Music Development in Lambeth. As a producer/sound engineer he worked with bands such as The Godfathers ( keyboards and engineer 'More Songs of Love and Hate'), Martin Stephenson and the Daintees, The Men They Couldn’t Hang, Screaming Blue Messiahs, Red Lorry Yellow Lorry, The Pogues and The Dubliners (The Irish Rover), Horselips ( live double album), My Bloody Valentine, Winston Francis (Reggae) Dr Miller and the Cute Hoors, The Servants, Ian Lowry, King Blank, the Mothers and the legendary Lee 'Scratch' Perry.

In 1987 he recorded the soundtrack for the film " Straight To Hell" with the Pogues.
In the 90s Harold designed and built the BBC Radio Studio for Partners in Sound in Camden. Harold also recorded with Terrorvision and Die Cheerleader but mostly concentrated on writing music for Television. (Back Tracks, LRTV, BBC educational series ‘Talking About’, Time Treasures). He also recorded the soundtrack for the film " Edward II" by Derek Jarman, music by Simon Turner.
In 1998, working in Spain, Harold mastered the centenary Lorca album ‘De Granada a la Luna’ (Nenah Cherry, Compay Segundo, Robert Wyatt, Lagartija Nick, Enrique Morente, Imperio Argentina) as well as mixing various tracks for Enrique Morente. The same year he was commisioning engineer for Ruido Rosa Studios, Ortura, Granada where he produced ‘Jazz en la Costa 98’ for Big Bang Records.
In 2000 Harold was live Sound Engineer for the Spanish TV series ‘Estar Por Ver’ and the same year he engineered Estrella Morente’s Grammy nominated ‘Mi Cante y un Poema’. In 2001 he produced ' Al Kantara' with the Orchestra Andaluci de Tanger and Emilio Maya. In 2002 he worked again with Estrella Morente on her album ‘Calle del Aire’. Also in 2002 he produced ‘Cale Calé’ for Taller de Compás which won the Critics Award for the Best Flamenco Percussion album.
In 2004 he produced flamenco guitarist Emilio Maya’s acclaimed album ‘Temple’, flamenco pianist Pablo Maldonado’s album ‘Almanjáyar’ and ‘Apocoplypse’ for Subterfuge Records and mastered 'Noches de Encuentro Alhambra Chill Out'. He also designed and built his own studio Andalamusica.
In 2005 he produced albums for Pull and Fiona May for Gas Oil Records and mixed the album ‘Coming Clean' for the New York guitarist, Gary Lucas and his group Gods and Monsters as well as producing ‘If I should See Fire’ for the American singer songwriter Greg Byler and his group 'the Branded Souls'.
In 2005 he was commissioned to design a new residential music and film studio in Padul, Granada which will be completed in 2008.
In 2006/07 he produced Mona Lisa, Suetor, After Prozac, A Priori and Irene Preuss at the Andalamusica Studio.
Over the years Harold has done live sound for artists such as King Blank, Screaming Blue Messiahs, Dick Dale, G Love and Special Sauce, Boney M, Morphine, Manic Street Preachers, Sound Garden, The Disposible Heroes of Hiphopracy, Catatonia as well as international tours with flamenco artists such as Emilio Maya and Taller de Compás.
Filmwork includes 'L'Alhambra de Grenade' ( FIFA 2004) 'El Otro Lado de la Memoria (2003) and 'Vaca Paca' ( Merlin Productions 2004)
Harold is a founding member of 'Fabrica del Flamenco' a non profit association formed to support and promote flamenco artists.
