About me:

Listed on the National Register of Historic Places since 1980, Andalusia is brought to life on many occasions in the published letters of American author Flannery O’Connor. Andalusia was O'Connor's home from 1951 until her death in 1964 and where she was living when she completed most of her published work. The agricultural setting of Andalusia - with its laborers, buildings, equipment, and animals - provided for O’Connor not only a place to live and write, but also a landscape in which to set her fiction. In the 1950s Andalusia was a dairy farm operated by O’Connor’s mother, Regina Cline O’Connor. The 544-acre estate is made up of gently rolling hills, divided into a farm complex, hayfields, pasture, woodland, a spring-fed creek (Tobler Creek), natural wetlands, and livestock ponds. The area around the 19th century Main House is planted with a number of specimen shade trees, conifers, ornamental flowering trees, shrubs, and perennials. Several stands of pine and hardwoods cover the landscape surrounding the farm complex.

Who I'd like to meet:
We would like to meet YOU! Andalusia is open to the public on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Saturdays from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or by appointment seven days a week. We are located on U.S. Highway 441, a quarter mile north of the Wal-mart SuperCenter in Milledgeville, Georgia (2628 North Columbia Street). The small gravel driveway entrance to the farm is located just across the highway from the sign of America's Best Value Inn. Visit our website at andalusiafarm.org or call us at 478-454-4029

hey there, Andalusia, Home of Flannery O'Connor!

well, it has been a long and winding road, and an even longer time coming, but my debut CD, I Remember, is FINALLY HERE!!! YAY!!!!!

to celebrate, American HeartBeat Records(tm) has arranged a FREE DOWNLOAD of Now Is The Time in exchange for a valid email address. Now Is The Time is a brand new, upbeat song I wrote: we are living in turbulent times. suddenly it is okay to be greedy and heartless? no way! a song of hope for our future, a new vision of America and the world.

we have a bunch of exciting things planned to kick this whole thing off, and we need to get a better picture of who our friends are, so the FREE DOWNLOAD form will ask you a few questions, like, what is your country and nearest major city. it all takes maybe 15 seconds.

anyhoo, the FREE DOWNLOAD, and the FUN, begins at www.JAETCHISON.com

I look forward to getting to know you a little better, and I thank you SO VERY MUCH for your friendship and support!

please tell your friends about JAETCHISON.com, and ask them to sign up for the email list, too! FUN things are coming up!!

peace from Atlanta, Georgia, USA,

J.A. Etchison

It's on his album called 'Paris 1919', the entirey of which is really nice. However, I just realized that the song is spelled 'Andalucia'. Still, I think you should hear it. Let me know if you don't manage to locate it.

Hi!

Thanks for finding us -- very cool as we've been extraordinarily inspired by Flannery's work while writing the next batch of songs for our upcoming album.

We've talked about Flannery in our most recent interviews with the Orlando Sentinel, St. Pete Times, and with Paste, if I remember correctly...

Also see our bio -- and we hope to make it up there, soon...how did you find us, btw?
