Floyd Show began under the auspices of Sons of Nothing (SoN) in 2001. SoN was the brainchild of collaborators Tim Hollinger and Thom Bowers, both of which celebrated a shared love of Pink Floyd. Although, SoN was formed with the intent of creating original material, the Floyd Show became the staple production.
"Tim and I would often break into spontaneous Floyd jams during rehearsal, much to the amusement and eventual irritation of our other bandmates. SoN gigged regularly throughout the year, and occasionally we threw a Floyd cover or two into the set for fun. The audiences we played to seemed to dig it – in fact, at one show we were deluged with requests for more Pink Floyd and so we had to improvise a few tunes on the spot. Our future sound effects man, Fozz, was in attendance at that show and afterwards, planted the seed by saying", “Since Tim loves this music as much as you do, why don't you try the tribute thing again sometime?”
- Thom Bowers, April 2002
With Hollinger on guitar and Bowers on bass, the band grew to incorporate additional members to create the authentic Pink Floyd sound. The Floyd Show experience grew from playing modest, local venues to large sell out events throughout Colorado, Idaho, Utah, and Washington.
~Reinventing Floyd Show~
In 2007, the Floyd Show project separated completely from Sons of Nothing. Bowers continues to write remarkable original music with Sons of Nothing while Hollinger retooled the band from four members to eight members with Tim (guitar/vocals), Joe (guitar), Dee (bass/vocals), Jason (drums & percussion), Amy (keyboards/vocals), Eric (sax/vocals), Juli (vocals), and Marie (vocals).
Floyd Show incorporates the theatrics and spectacle Pink Floyd fans have grown to expect throughout the evolution and MATURITY of the band. With astounding audio and visual effects, intense bravura, intricate harmonies, and an incredible Floydian sound, Floyd Show continues to amaze crowds through the Midwest and West coast.
I did, sorry I haven't responded in a while, I've had finals and I'm getting ready for surgery - I'll definitely let you know when I'm better (I'm getting my tonsils taken out) so we can figure something out.
Danks for tha add! Much love, respect and good luck! Be sure to check out my supergroup "Tha Dankseid"( myspace.com/dankseid ) and my homie "Swift's" brand new page( myspace.com/ktownswifty ) Pretty much all my friends are worth adding if you've got the energy but I've got most invested in these two right now. Also you will soon recieve event invitations, if you don't then you weren't listed as local,if you do then come shake n' get loose with your underground scene! Big shows are on the way, all ages shows are on the way! Shedding new skins with old knives under open skies -a lot of changes on the way, change is good! Soon my three man group Tha Dankseid will drop our first cd, probably by New Year's eve and look out for an X-mas track. My solo will drop by summer and I will start doing shows in Tooele for all you local kats. May need a new producer soon, who is willing to work for pretzels and cheese, after the new year and I want to get a mobile stage together by then so I can backyard show whenever, wherever I want...your house, maybe. Also working on getting some merch made and perhaps some radio time on KRCL 90.9 to promote local acts once a week. Get at me with any and all questions, suggestions or otherwise trivial chit chat- Peace out! p.s. check out the new track "Magic People"(written for Halloween Horror 4rrr) to give you an idea of the energy purged. Thank you again for your support!
