Sacramento, California is probably the most unlikely place to find a 16-year old, green-eyed soul singer, second maybe to finding soulster Joss Stone in the deep of Stoker, England. And like Stone, Andie Hahn is poised to be a resonant voice of the retro soul. If it were not for her rich tone, authentic riffs, and vocal nuances that defy her age, you might misjudge her as just another pretty face joining the music scene. But not so – Andie’s got soul.
At age 12 Andie convinced her parents to help her pursue a music career. The young singer sought lessons from vocal coach/producer Jasmien and began singing at local venues in the Sacramento area. Success led to Andie collaborating with Brent Bourgeois, former lead singer, songwriter, and producer for Bourgeois Tagg. This partnership produced a studio project featuring reinterpretations of classics and retro-pop originals like “Mr. Fumblefingers.” Andie’s soulful version of the Doors’ classic “Light My Fire” has internet radio stations calling the song “fresh” and “new again.”
With an unexplainable drive, Andie gladly endures a rigorous schedule including roundtrips to renowned voice instructor Dave Stroud (Terry Ellis (En Vogue), Rosie Gaines (Prince & The New Power Generation). “Working in Los Angeles with Dave provides me with an opportunity to grow as an artist and check-out the LA music scene,” insists Andie.
Check back frequently to keep up with Andie’s new music and all the inside info!
