My brother Joe, a very hard working and focussed guy, I wish I had his motivation sometimes. He supports me and my music enormously. Thanks Joe.
Born into a family whose main entertainment centred on Irish folk nights,
in the social clubs of Liverpool, Andi didn’t have much choice other than
to be heavily influenced by music. Leaning towards the world of Rock in the
late 70s and early 80s following bands such as AC-DC, Led Zep and Van Halen,
he took a side step in 1984 and joined the 80s Pop Funk band
So Its Velvet [Carrere Records] as bass player and backing vocalist
although with his bent on rock, Andi’s voice was often criticised by the other
band members. Following issues with publishing contracts, Andi gave up on the
music business and only played in a few hobby blues bands for the next 18 years.
In 2004, the writing bug struck whilst on his way back to the new family home
in France following a week working in the UK and “Four Day Travelling Man”
started the ball rolling again. Since then, Andi has been performing concerts
throughout Europe, both as part of Rockoustik and as a solo performer,
developing regular venue slots in the UK, France and Belgium.
Andi’s song writing is based around his need to harness his emotional experiences
and those of people close to him. With just an acoustic guitar and a deep, powerful,
gravely voice, he manages to bring out the same emotions in his audience. Seeing
Andi play live, will give you 3 hours of solid entertainment, with his own songs,
liberally laced with the cover songs he has been most influenced by over the years.
