Acoustic guitars, smooth vocals and cool flute riffs: some call it 'world' or 'latin-american' music, but that's just too generic. Andinay is more than the sum of it's sounds. There's something immediately likeable about their finger-picked, plucked, and richly harmonized melodies. The songs get into your head and stay there.
Both onstage and in their recordings, Andinay delivers high energy and dreamy unplugged soundscapes that are sure to captivate your soul.
The music is completely original and fresh, yet Andinay radiates strikingly familiar airiness and melancholy. Maybe it's because most of the instruments they play have been around for thousands of years. Or maybe it's their global message of unity and recurrent themes of freedom and change that resonate within our inner selves.
Andinay's vision is to fuse contemporary and traditional Andean music by blending the sounds of voice, flutes, strings, and percussion instruments into original compositions.
"We grew up surrounded by folklore, andean groups, and street musicians. Mix that vibe with incredible mountain views and towering volcanos of the Andes and you get our unique sound."
Andinay has performed at many multi-cultural events including: Rutgers University, New Jersey City University, Waterloo Village, Univision and Telemundo as well as private and public concerts for non-profit organizations and cultural organizations.
"Your performance was all I hoped for, and more. The music really brought the spirit of the Andes into the museum...You are all talented musicians, but more than that, you are personable performers, able to communicate your love of the music to your audience."
-Margaret Moulton, Manager of Public Programs The Hudson River Museum
