alt.country from the north of england,
americana soaked in bolton rain.
stories of love and loss. tales of misadventure and misfortune.
stuff like that really.
To arrive on the scene from nowhere and produce an album of quality material

'a wonderful album' - Bob Harris BBC Radio 2
I was born and raised in Bolton, England - a rainy mill town in the north west. I play a red J200, I like cowboy boots, Cath Kidston, flocked wallpaper, tea, scented candles, fairy lights, notebooks, everything about autumn, all things coastal, trains, long journeys and maps.
I spent July 2007 in Nashville recording my debut album, Stood Under Stars. The tracks on my player are taken from there. I had the honour and privilege of playing with some fine musicians including Al Perkins - pedal and lap steel, dobro, banjo extraordinaire. I gave up my job and home to do this and have been staying on sofas and in spare rooms since.
I'm now working on my second album - details of which can be found by clicking on the link to my website - www.andreaglass.co.uk
Please feel free to add or message me.
You can buy my album at all good record stores or as a digital download. If you would like a personally signed copy please message me here.
MONOTONIX Saturday 28th November Nice n Sleazys, Glasgow
The release of their new album tops off a whirlwind year of touring, the infamy surrounding their charged live perfomances steadily mounting. Rightly so, check out this youtube link- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XmEHu-QAgNE&feature=related - and marvel at one of the typically unpredictable gigs of the band that Spin have declared the "most exciting live band in rock'n'roll."

After you've finished here, you may like to hear this poem sung on myspace...
Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?
Andrea, Thankyou again for your magnificent show at the Leith Folk club in Aug, you were one of my favorite artists that I saw while in Edinburgh. i would like the Prime Minster and cabinet to allow Country Music festivals to be exempt from tax and vat on items sold on the festival grounds to help the struggling country music scene during this recession
