WHEN I WAS A KID I LOVED JOAN JETT (STILL DO), STEVIE NICKS, CYNDI LAUPER, THE CHICK FROM SCANDAL, FOREIGNER.........ANYTHING THAT I COULD PLAY ON MY RECORD PLAYER AND ROCK OUT IN THE MIRROR TO. IN HIGH SCHOOL IT WAS ALL ABOUT THE CURE, THE CLASSIC ROCK GROUPS METALLICA AND THE SUICIDAL TENDENCIES. NOW THAT I'M AN ADULT, I CAN SAY I HAVE ALSO BEEN GREATLY INFLUENCED BY JANIS JOPLIN, ALISON KRAUSS, NATALIE MERCHANT, BOB DYLAN, EDIE BRICKELL, BOB MARLEY, PINK FLOYD (MY FAVORITE BAND EVER!), MICK JAGGER AND THE REST OF THE STONES, AND THE GRATEFUL DEAD, METAL ACTS LIKE SLAYER, PANTERA, AND SEPULTURA I LOVE AND COUNTRY ACTS LIKE TRISHA YEARWOOD, PATSY CLINE, THE NITTY GRITTY DIRT BAND, AND SO MANY MORE THAT I CAN'T THINK OF RIGHT NOW.....
From her home base in the beautiful mountains of Western Montana, Andrea Harsell has been bringing her vibrant performing style and exceptional songwriting to audiences around the country for over ten years. With a powerful, supple voice and a passel of outstanding original songs, Andrea is more than just a major talent—she’s a force of nature.
She’s a magnetic stage presence, with loads of sex appeal and passion that reveals a love of her music as well as a strong connection to her audience.
She’s known for her original songs spanning Sunday morning mellow folk to Friday night high energy rock ‘n roll. The songs she writes can be funny, heartbreaking, or thought-provoking, sometimes all in the same song.
Her first independent CD release was “Nine Pound Hammer,” by the nationally recognized bluegrass band of the same name. The well-received 2000 album has made its way all over the world, to great reviews and critical acclaim.
Since then, Andrea has evolved from being the lead singer in that band to a wider range of experimental playing. The release of her long awaited album is set for September 18, 2009 at the Top Hat Lounge. See her perform around Montana and the nation in 2010.

Do you remember back in the day when you played at the Rhino, and I was there with Sarah Adams dancing to your music? I think your sister was there. I became a fan of your music then. You are going places, you are genuine and I can't wait to see your face on the cover of people. Bye now, and keep up all of your hard work. It will pay off!
