make you laugh out loud and his rhythms keeps your feet and heart dancing..
The creativity of Andre Antonio is bottomless, in many aspects, he will always
find phrases which are unpredictable, and there is always a line to steal you
away, encouraging you to easily switch between fantasy and reality and not
caring which is which.
The self thought singer songwriter has a style which is not restrictive, with
compositions ranging from Roots Jamaican Reggae, to Soul, Ska, Lovers Rock,
Dancehall, Pop, R&B
And a little soft Rock. He is never short on words and his topics are wide and
varied to fit into your unpredictable modes, whether they be new love, old love,
heart break, politics or down time, maybe something to motivate or inspire he
can deliver.
Andre Antonio named Andre Antonio Simpson was born and raised in South
Trelawney in the beautiful Caribbean paradise of Jamaica.
He migrated to the U.S in 2003 and resides in the Bronx New York.
Shortly after his entry to the U.S he started attending Monroe College in New
Rochelle New York.
Here he saw the opportunity to introduce his talent to different cultures
within the schools community,
So he entered the Colleges poetry contest and came third in the competition..
He also preformed at Opens Mike sessions at the college and also in Manhattan
New York where he gotten some very positive responses.
His main dream was to write songs for performing artists, so he set out to
pursue his dream.
Without any knowledge of the industry it at first looked like was a circle
leading to nowhere. His undaunted efforts however started to see light when in
2004 he met one of the most versatile Jamaican in the film and music industry
Clearanceoyes,
Who became his mentor on all his music aspect.
By meeting Clearanceroyes he was encourage to work on his vocals and to
practice to sing his own songs.
This relationship took him back to a new Jamaica which he never knew existed.
He ended up working with “Dia” of Builders Music Studio. The man who had
earlier created the sound that launch Bounti Killer to recognition while at the
King Jammy’s studio with Kaution Band and later the “ Gallop Rhythm” that
revolutionise the dancehall in 2003. With the legendary “JahD” who had
created many of the Studio One sounds that launched Coxone Dodd to the pinnacle
of Ska and Rock Steady, Andre Antonio did his ska rendition, “ She set my love
on fire”.
Andre Antonio is still pursuing his original dream of writing songs for
established artistes but he has achieved the aspect of being a recording
artiste with an album that will keep you singing. Whichever side of this
artiste you want to see or hear just call, he is ready to deliver.
