Andreas Constantinou (AKA Andreas C) is a singer/songwriter, choreographer and visual artist. He has performed and presented his music and performance art works in theatres, galleries, bars and festivals through out Europe and Asia since 2004.
Andreas C initially trained as a performance artist and graduated from Europe’s leading art dance conservatoire Laban in 2003. Since graduating Andreas has worked with some of the UKs leading artists such as PunchDrunkTheatricalExperiences, Athina Vahla’s Prized open, Uniform, Ragnar Ólafsson and Haffsteinn Þoralfsson. Andreas C has presented his work in venues such as The South Bank, Bonnie Bird Theatre and Robin Howard Dance Theater, and the Donau festival
In early 2003 Andreas C initiated the company titled himherandit.productions, a company that was aimed at combining different mediums and art forms to create diverse and innovative productions. Himherandit.productions have to date presented Music, Dance-theatre and Installation works in a number of different locations such as music venues, site-specific spaces, galleries and theatres.
Andreas C brings a sense of theatricallity to his live music and past performances have included performance art, choreography and installation accompanying his live music shows . This unique set up has created an overall acoustic and visual aesthetic that is both atmospheric and captivating.
August 2008 saw the release of Andreas Cs debut album titled Fistful. The album was distributed through music stores in Iceland by Icelandic Record Label, Kimi Records. Fistful was produced by Andreas Constantinou and Ragnar Ólafsson and mastered by Flex at irak, syrland studios in Iceland. The album was well received and the press called it "an interesting, inventive low-fi record. Andreas C is one to keep your eye on!" - Morgunbladid (Icelands leading national newspaper music review). 2008 continued to see Andreas C tour with a live band performing through Reykjaviks music circuit and performing at Iceland Gay Pride to an audience of 40.000.
In 2009 Andreas C has been involved in various creative projects including "The Opening" a full scale multi medium performance installation that took over Icelands Sundholl Swimming pool builiding and created it into a magical world of madness and water. The Opening was commissioned by Spiral Dance Company and Hasskoli Islands.
Andreas C has since been working on his second album titled "Amplify". Amplify is a collection of ten solo songs all writen, produced and performed by himself and reveal the artist at his most intimate. Amplify is due for release in the fall of 2009.
