Interests

  • General

    Building and marketing businesses
  • Music

Smooth jazz, classical, old school r&b, 70's r&b dance music, almost everything by Sade, Enya, Dido, Jewel, and (don't shoot me) probably every ballad and love song ever performed by Barbara Streisand. I just love her voice!
  • Movies

X-Men, Spiderman, Superman (hmm... seems I may have a hero complex)... Goodwill Hunting, and Pursuit of Happyness.
  • Television

I used to only watch Smallville and Battlestar Galatica (the newer series) each week. Not much time or interest for other tv viewing. Though I love Sci-fi series (Stargate and its spinoffs), Farscape, etc... but just don't have time to veg in front of the tv much anymore. Too busy building my own dreams to be sitting around watching others live theirs.
  • Books

For fun reading I enjoyed reading Anne Rices' Interview With A Vampire, The Vampire Lestat, and Queen of The Damned... well in advance of the movies. I liked Queen of the Damned only because Aaliyah was in it ;-) For my mind I prefer Think and Grow Rich, The Millionaire Mind, Unlimited Power, the 'classic' copywriting books like the Robert Collier Letter Book, Ogilvy On Advertising. And more recently most everything by Dan Kennedy, Joseph Sugarman, and a host of other marketers. I also do quite a bit of reading along the lines of persuasion, NLP, and psychology. I'm fascinated by the secrets people much smarter than me discovered about what makes us do the things we do. Mind expanding stuff.
  • Heroes

From fiction I used to read The Flash, Thor, Xmen (Wolverine, Jean Grey, and Magnus are among my favorites), spiderman, superman, and green lantern. In the real world my heroes are everyone who's ever put their own lives on the line to save a complete stranger. There's no greater hero in my book than someone who's willing to risk his or her own life for another, especially a complete stranger.

About me:

Hi. My name is Andre.

People ask me all the time what do I do. The easiest way for me to answer this question is to give them three little letters to suck down...

P.C.C.

It stands for publishing, consulting, copywriting.

P- publishing. I publish specialized books, videos, and software online and off. These are usually products I've created after having researched the markets I'm going after. Since I'm not a programmer, I hire programmers to do that kind of work for me. But I handle all of the marketing myself. * That's where the money really is * ...not in product creation. [there's a million dollar secret for you ;) ]

C- copywriting. No, copywriting doesn't have anything to do with copy 'right' notices seen in movies or on books. Almost everyone asks me that.

Copywriting involves using words to move people to action. This can be in print, on the web, on tv, on the radio or wherever. Really, anywhere words are used to influence people copywriting is involved.

Copywriting is a lot of work. It takes a tremendous amount of research to write persuasive content that rings true to your market and is free of hype. You can tell the scammer copywriters apart from real copywriters fairly easily. Just look for proof elements in their portfolios. Scammers fill a page with hype and superlatives. Proof is always lacking.

Anyhow, I do copywriting mostly for myself. Occassionally for others too. If you have a project that could use a 'bump' in sales...I might be able to help. Let's talk.

C- consulting. I teach business owners how to grow their companies in ways they may never have realized. Some of the companies I've worked with were much more talented than me, yet had hit a sticking point. They were either overwhelmed and needed someone independent to help free up time, or they were too close to the forest to see the trees. So they contacted me for my unbiased objective advice.

LETS GET PERSONAL

Ok, that's my business side. On a personal level, my heritage includes primarily African-American and native American Indian, the Choctaw tribe. I guess that makes me a modern-day Rainmaker.

Or not :-)

Anyhow, I'm mostly mutt though ie there's a bit of Irish and Portuguese in me too. I'm sure you can figure out how those got there and it ain't from the 'motherland'...

My website is www.AndreBell.com.

If you're curious about me or if you are a business owner...check out the site. I'm kinda proud of it. Though it is a work in progress.

Hey. I love people. Honestly. If I had the time I would love to go to the park and lay on the freshly cut green grass or sit on a park bench on a bright sunny day and watch people for hours.

Even better would be to get with a group of other people who love talking about growing and building businesses....then talk for hours about the possibilities. Not many people share my interests there. So instead, I usually keep my thoughts about copywriting and business growth principles to myself.

Is a lonely field to be in. Only other consultants and copywriters understand and appreciate this.

Everyone else just think we're nuts :)

If you are a fellow consultant or copywriter (or someone who's just plain beautiful) send me your friend invite. I could use the company. It's kinda sparse here. Besides, I'd love to decorate my friend list with your pretty picture - LOL

Oh. If you want to reach me by email feel free to email me on my "spam free" email link. Myspace's redirect software will get you there. Just click on my web address once the myspace msplinks.com page loads.

Looking forward to talking shop with you.

Who I'd like to meet:

Layla Keyleigh - smart, talented, articulate and seems to genuinely care about other people despite her success -- the only star I will ever add to my myspace friends list. Barbara Streisand -- because I've had a crush on her voice ever since I first heard her sing when I was a little kid back in the 60's (I guess some feelings we never outgrow), fellow marketers, MySpace Whores ie people who love to talk about marketing and share marketing 'war stories' via MySpace, professionals, and anyone interested in ethical ways to increase sales and profits of an existing business online or off.
