Andre Donawa lives on an island in the Caribbean. He's a Bajan. He plays
bass, guitars, percussion and produces music from his studio across the street from the beach.
He was the opening act for the Barbados National Jazz Festival 2001,
performed with Kite at Culture Shock 2005, and has released 2 CD’s exploring the merging oflocal rhythms and sounds
with African American music.
His third CD, “Aqua Blue? It’s about my love for open spaces, the beauty of nature's endless vistas’, drifting away into the distance. It’s a sound byte of
that feeling we get as our eyes wander across a horizon.”
“This is quite a different album for me. I think in this one it’s not so
much me telling the story but the stories telling themselves. I’m just
along for the ride. It’s definitely more a mix of all the music that has
influenced me. I listen back to it and hear the influences of Trevor Horn
from The Art of Noise, right up there with, say, Aston “Family Man” Barrett
and Pat Metheny, all in one song. To me it doesn’t sound forced. It sounds
just as if it was always meant to be.”

Thanks so much for being a friend here at myspace. I enjoyed very much your tunes as well: "Aqua Blue" and "Piccolo" has very nice electric guitar sound and solo parts-melody!!
Thank you for the comment - I used for that song only the steel string guitar and some electronic effect processing.
Making your acquiantance was one of the great pleasures of Y2K9 - your composure in the face of equipment failure and ability to about-face and take another route was inspirational. Diggin' the grooves here, and hoping to do it all again next year, assuredly.
Hi ! I invite verybody to listen to my new upload "All Niggas" by one of my former bands. It's got a message of tolerance and a hall of fame guitar solo. Style: Funk/Rap/R'nB. best regards Art
