Also, if you message me, I will definitely read it, but I don't really write people back, so please don't be offended if you don't get a response. It's not you, it's me. I hope you understand.
I've got to write some songs in the next few months, so if anyone has any ideas, please send me any and all detailed proposals including the following:
(1) song title;
(2) a one-paragraph treatment outlining
- (a) the song's central thesis
- (b) the identification of the speaker (as distinguished from 'author') - and
- (c) the chronology of the narrative;
(3) a list of really good nouns you'd like to include;
(4) at least seven (7) stark images;
(5) the key/time/tempo;
(6) the basic chord progression (Roman numeral format - please include inversion notation!);
(7) the melody (no more than two hooks per chorus!);
(8) song structure (verse-chorus-bridge-outro-etc.);
(9) any modulations or changes in time signature... don't get too cute though! it's a SONG, not a composition!;
(10) instrumentation: who's playing what?;
(11) what radio format you think it would fit best in (if any); and
(12) whether or not you think we should record it in your basement.
I'm mainly looking for themes of unrequited love and biting social commentary. Quirky setting and a focus on imagery a plus. Submit your ideas post-haste! I prefer Times New Roman 10 point. If handwritten, I require the same. Thanks in advance.
