Hi, I'm Andrew Bayuk and welcome to my official MySpace spot. My all-original music and style are mostly described as "a funky blend of folk-rock that packs a punch, an imaginative songwriter and talented guitarist whose heartfelt vocals draw you in, with lyrics that keep you wanting more". I'm a singer/songwriter committed to creating and performing captivating and relevant folk-rock music, providing a soundtrack for modern daily life, and the political and social issues of our day. I've just released my second full length CD "The Dreamer or the Dream".
Heavily influenced by The Beatles, John and Yoko, Neil Young, Bob Dylan, Pink Floyd, Led Zeppelin and various jam bands, my music has an acoustic folk backbone with an electric rock overlay and is laced with accompanying and background harmony vocals.
Featured on television and radio, my music is finding its way to the mainstream audience.
My recent appearance on the TV morning show, Daybreak.
In addition to my more conventional songs about life and love, I'm determined to provide songs for people who still care about PEACE, our less fortunate fellow citizens, are fed up with the unfettering of big business at the expense of the public, are tired of having our environment compromised so the rich can get richer, are tired of being lied to and led into an illegal war for oil and profit, and still have the dream of a solid decent America that is strong at home and respected around the world. Seems like we're so far from that now, but I am ever the hopeful one, and we all need to do our part to get some change.
My song "Smokescreen" is about the Iraq War. The electric version of "Save the USA" is a call for our representatives to do the job that they've been elected for, and cut the crap already! And, "Heroes of a Broken War" honors the troops while still admonishing the Iraq War. To be clear, although I despise this war, I do support the troops and believe that their willingness to serve is heroic. These songs all can be heard HERE. Please feel free to comment on all these songs, both here and there, I'd love to hear your thoughts, whether you like them or not.

I have a passion for ancient Egypt. So far I've traveled to Egypt 9 times and my next CD will feature Folk Rock songs with Ancient Egypt themes in the lyrics. My song, "Weighing of the Heart" is based on a scene from ancient Egyptian scrolls which depict one of the older scenes of the judgment after death ever recorded. The live acoustic version of this song debuted on my "Mixed Messages" CD.
On my latest CD, The Dreamer or the Dream" I've included another song from my next project called, "Horus on the Horizon".
I've created and maintain one of the original, largest and most comprehensive ancient Egypt websites on the Internet at: http://guardians.net
Here you can explore the pyramids, tombs, temples of Egypt and much more.
I also created and maintained for the first 12 years the Official website for the Head of the Egyptian Antiquities Department, my friend and mentor, Dr. Zahi Hawass
Well i must say i find it that your causes in your song are very nobel. If i must say if there is a ever a need for our generation to speak out as political activists we can speak out and pray for peace in the world. I pray that the war in Afghanistan and Iraq would one day be over and that the American troops return home safely as heros. We can all pray to make the world a better place for us to live in not just for us but for our future children children who will follow in the next generation after the other. I pray for there to be peace in Iraq and Afghanistan as well in Israel. This goes for all parts in the world ranging from South Korea to North Korea or whatever the case maybe. Those are the songs that should be put out! Good job on the songs!
Thank you for your friendship, it's so cool you found me! I love your music, your music is all about love and peace, and I totally feel your energy!! I wish if I can write lyrics like you, writing words is so hard and takes me forever!! But please stay in touch, and keep me posted for your new releases!!
I never asked for anything from my network of artists and friends. I'm not selling any CD's or asking you to come to my concerts, or making you click on a stupid link to nowhere.... Please do me 1 favor>>Vote for my Dad's song as the official song for the city of St. Petersburg Florida "Carry Me Back" http://www.stpete.org/song/song_form.cfm. He is a legendary bass player performer, and has earned his dues with the 60's The Tropics, 70's Tom Petty, 80's Fortress, 90's many many others, and now touring (or should I say "groovin" on a Sunday afternoon) with other legends like himself in the New Rascals. give a listen, and vote for my Pops. It's song choice A, Charlie Souza & the New Tropics. THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND COME ON DOWN TO ST. PETERSBURG TO SAY HELLO! Help me help out my Pops, my fellow artists.
Hello, I hope this finds you in good spirits. If not,....find another brand of SPIRITS! "Goodbye for now and may God bless" Brian Hoffman~Red Skelton Impersonator
Hi Andrew, beautiful songs,Your songs!!! I've seen all videos and i was very impressive . I like Your guitarplaying.Wish You all the best and a great future on Your musical way.Thank's for add.Wolfgang
Hey Andrew-- Really enjoted your songs, "Think Peace" and "The Dreamer or The dream", great melodies, incredible vocals, and nice texture. I'd love to jam with you guys some day. That's the biggest compliment I know to give, cause I really like your music. I find it intriging and fun. Lyrics that mix thoughtful intelligence with witty quips, follwed with strong important hooks. Your songs are a lot like what I'd like mine to resemble, a lot like looking out to sea in Key West, even though the waves from a distance look similar in shape and form, when you fly closer you pick up the subtleties of the layering beneath the surface. What I'm saying is that I see a lot of "The Beatles" in your heritage. The razor-cutting lyrics of John Lennon, coupled with George's deliberate guitar licks and Paul's sense of community. I also love your acoustic playing, reminds me of things I hear in my head when writing songs, that sometimes I'm able to capture.
wow!!:D ur such a great person!! uv got the voice, the attitude, & danggg....i pretty much love all the bands that influenced u:D *high five!* gahh, love ur songs! :3
