Bio
............Uploaded with ..plasq..'s ..Skitch..!.... Andrew Duhon began his writing in high school as a result of his fascination with the works of Emerson and Thoreau as well as poets Walt Whitman and Robert Frost. During the summer of '04 Andrew worked and lived at an old retreat house on the outskirts of the French Quarter. It was then that he fell in love with the character of New Orleans. A year later hurricane Katrina left the city and his former French Quarter home crippled. The blues that he had found in the French Quarter rang true as he continued to write. The honesty in Andrew Duhon's songwriting is a result of the self realization that he has found through his writing. His music and performances reflect his personal perspective in a very real way, and his voice leaves no gaps in the experience as he sings with a conviction all too befitting of his raw, personal writings. .. ..Article By: James A. Howard .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. .. I edited my profile with Thomas Myspace Editor V4.4 (www.strikefile.com/myspace) ...."This record is genius. Not kidding. It is unbelievably great. This young man has it. The singing, the playing, the production...it's all there. Strikingly good. The world needs to hear this record." -George Howard, former president of Rykodisc .... .. .."With his cards to his chest and his heart on his sleeve, Andrew brings us his stories, in a voice as full as any I've heard, breathing life and truth into his songs" -Trina Shoemaker, Grammy Award Winning producer and engineer.... ...."Another world-class voice is heard from Louisiana, another soulful, mesmerizing singer who writes emotional songs with impact and heart. Andrew Duhon is a troubadour for the next generation, a story-teller for his generation. Measured in the blues with the gift of narrative, Andrew¹s songs will not only make you think, they will make you sing along, days later. This a young artist to watch, and to hear, as soon as you can find a way. " - John Snyder, ArtistHouseMusic.com.. .. ...."Andrew gets it. He understands not only how to craft an appealing song, but how to sell it on stage well beyond his years. He brings to mind a young Dylan with both his melancholy and sincerity." -Eric Orlando, owner of Carrollton Station.. .. .. .. .. .. .......... .. ..
