Nia. What's that, you ask...It's a body-mind-spirit fitness program, which encourages self-healing through expressive movement. It was born out of a desire to create cardio fitness classes that nourished and healed the body’s joints, instead of forcing and abusing them. It is a combination of movement forms, with a unique approach that ends up offering much more than just a workout... it will guide you towards extraordinary sensory awareness, a renewed sense of life and purpose and a relationship with your body that will grow stronger with every class...
Also have to include: playing drums - for many years my overriding passion; reading - mostly spirituality, but also psychology and lately anatomy & physiology (constantly attempting to understand it all), riding my scooter and discovering new places
Music
Hard to put down in one list all those that leave an impression; Nia encourages us to be better listeners, to seek out the compositional intention in EVERY song, and in class we move to a variety of music.
Movies
Wow, OK, I'm really pretty bad at getting myself to the movies...I do go - sometimes - feel a little hard-pressed to really answer this one...How about Unforgiven? Yyyyip...or The Matrix 1. I'll leave this at that for now...

Books
The NIA Technique, by Debbie & Carlos Rosas - a great resource!
The Power of Now has to be mentioned here, as - for me - it is a great companion, and offers an inspired perspective.
The Tibetan Book Of Living and Dying...need I say more?
Heroes
Carlos & Debbie Rosas - founders of Nia, bold & uncompromising, and so inspired!
Eckhart Tolle - a torch-bearer.
My dad - leads by example, and inspires me to keep on keepin' on!
About me: A few years ago I bought a black t-shirt, with white print that states simply ‘truthseeker’. I’ve worn it out perhaps 3 times. I tend to quietly pursue the answer (am I any closer, I wonder?)… intuitive, gentle, caring, aware and concerned with the wellbeing of others, fun & funny, don’t take much seriously, but am incredibly serious about that; have spent most of my life investigating and articulating my affinity with rhythm…as a drummer this has left me finding mornings a time of sleepy contemplation…as a Nia teacher, I’m discovering mornings in a whole new light!
Who I'd like to meet: Eckhart Tolle, Bill CLinton, Jeff Porcaro, Michael Hutchence...I'm sure there are others...I'll add...
ha ha, yes, the braille party. i thought of that recently and it made me smile. and DON'T WORRY there's plenty of time for braille parties for a couple of young, good looking people like us. :) love, k

it was fabulous running into you today! ahh, good times. i guess the best way to have lunch with you is to go for a walk on sunset. talk to you soon.
Andrew, you are so HOT!
I love that whenever I am around you we always get the best ideas... braille party, for example. It's always so fun when our twisted, perverted minds get together and play! hope to see you soon.
