Andrew Kratzat is no newcomer to the national jazz scene. The winner of the Downbeat Best Soloist Award and
International Society of Bassists Jazz Award has recorded and played with such prominent jazz artists as Hank Jones,
Ari Hoenig, and Jeremy Kittel. Kratzat is currently the regular bassist for three-time Detroit Music Award Winner Jesse
Palter as well as the newest member of Mack Avenue artist Hot Club of Detroit. Kratzat actively performs with many artists around the world. Aside from
frequent trips to New York playing venues like the Zinc Bar, Kratzat is returning to Korea for the fourth time in March,
where he is a well recognized name. Kratzat released his debut solo album "The Dentist" last summer.
Andrew, I've been listening to your CDs in my car. I really dig the trio stuff. Of course THe Dentist has some great moments too. The trio stuff really clicked with me though. It's kind of inspired me to want to start writing for trio or quartet. The interaction is really cool.
hey andrew. I love the music. Its been forever since I've seen you. You've grown so much as a musician. To think I used to play in the jazz band with you when you were first learning bass..now you're beyond amazing and I still suck at guitar. Keep playing!
Holy crap, great playing with you yesterday. Thanks for making it happen... I know you wanted to drive 11 hours and play for a 7 year old birthday party where they'd be doing "The Worm" to your killing bass solos... right? Let's play again soon bro.
