anyone honest, and clever that makes me pursue better spaces.
Three minutes with singer-songwriter Andrew Landers is time well spent. He speaks truth with creativity, texture, soul, and wit. Full of metaphor and meaning, Andrew's songs have no place for superfluous embellishments or throwaway lines. Landers is a guitar player with a percussive and melodic style that is a unique experience in itself. Alternate tunings and cut capos find tonal textures you have never heard before. His love for the Blues, New Orleans jazz, and gospel music all collide into his Americana Folk Roots heritage. When you get the pleasure of seeing Andrew live, you will come to a quick realization that this is not a typical show, but an exploration of his own depravity as he enters into the narrative called life. Andrew permeates his music—challenging you to deepen your love for fellow sojourners and acknowledge how desperately we need each other on these broken roads. He is unafraid of complicated topics and looks beyond the easy sentiment. Andrew has an amazing capacity to read the heart of the humanity in front of him and move them into a new way of seeing the world. He has shared the stage with countless national acts all over the country, yet finds himself most at home in more intimate venues singing to a small world. Landers lives in a small Midwest town near the banks of the Mississippi, with his wife and 6 children.
“Andrew Landers makes it look easy – The best singer-songwriter in the Midwest region. His music is medicine for the soul" Ellis Kell–Legendary Blues Man/ Director of the River Music Experience
“Andrew is the real deal – soulful, unpretentious storyteller who tells it from the heart. His music is as profound as it is entertaining.”
Max Allen Collins “author of Road to Perdition”
“Andrew Landers writes lyrics that make me professionally jealous. He paints compelling word pictures and stories that can’t help but draw you in. His new CD , Beautiful Depravity has been playing in my car for two straight weeks now and is unlikely to leave for a while.” David Burke – Quad City Times
“His ambivalence and openness are magnetic. His songs are grounded in rock-solid faith, but they're drawn to weakness, shadow, frailty, and nuance.” JEFF IGNATIUS - River City Reader
“Andrew Landers is not at all that hard to figure out. He’s just a neo-hippy poet musing on theology and sociology from a post modern perspective. He simply finds the sacred in the ordinary, the humor in the serious, and the tranquil in the noise that surrounds us all. Listen at your own peril.”
Ed Rowell – Author/Lead Pastor of Tri-Lakes Church in Colorado Springs CO.
