Frantically you chase it down the street, screaming in terror as you avoid the oncoming traffic. Still you try to keep up with the little fluttering elusive entity that so skillfully evades your every leap and pounce you begin to think that it is being remotely controlled by some malevolent force. Realising paranoia is getting you nowhere, you try to clear your head of wayward thoughts and indecision. Concentrating on the task at hand you continue to chase down that little bit of hope with new found vigour and conviction, and yet still it sidesteps every advance you make. Hours, maybe even days, weeks, months or years later (depending on how much conviction you have or how stupid you are) you resign yourself to defeat, bellowing "Argh, damn it all to hell". Pride messes with your head on the long journey back home. Memories of your hope ebbing away, haunt every fibre of your being.
