Andrew McFayden is a Scots Gaelic singer (who also speaks French and Spanish) from the northern British Columbia city of Prince George. He grew up surrounded by music of all kinds, and received a Royal Conservatory piano designation in 1991 having completed its grade 9 level. In 2004, Andrew recorded and released his first album "An Rathad Cam 's An Rathad Direach" (The Crooked Road and the Straight Road).
Andrew released his second album "Suilean Fosgailte, Fuasgladh Cinn" (Open Eyes, Open Mind) on December 14, 2007 to a packed house in Prince George, BC. This album was the culmination of 2 years of work in the multi-ECMA award-winning studio Lakewind Sound in Cape Breton, and many talented musicians and singers.
He learned the language as an adult through his extensive travels in Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia and credits the Gaelic College there as well as his contact with local elders, teachers and friends with his Gaelic learning.
Andrew finished a concert tour of Nova Scotia and PEI in the summer of 2008.

hi! We met at the Gaelic College a couple of years ago when we were there with a group of other youth from BC on an "exchange" - we loved it so much, we went back in 2007 - and we may go again next summer!!
Thank you for blessing us into your circle, may blessings and peace follow you all the days of your life....
Sincerely, Your Friend, Chadron Rotchopf

The best kind of friend is the one you could sit on a porch with, never saying a word, and walk away feeling like that was the best conversation you've had
