Andrew's Interests
|
| General | I enjoy my work as a computer consultant (software engineer,
web developer, architect, trainer). I also enjoy hanging out with my 6 kids. I love animals of all shapes and size (I currently have 4 dogs, 6 cats, 2 iguanas, various frogs/toads, 3 turtles, 1 big hairy spider, 1 emperor scorpion, and 1 rabbit). I am also a tinker and love to do just about any projects such as welding, laying tile, stacking bricks, general construction, rebuilding a motor, etc. - like legos for men! | | Music | I feel that music is all about your mood. I can listen to pretty much anything these days. My normal listening habbits in a given day take me through: bluegrass, heavy metal, techno, classical, musicals, psychedelic, trance, salsa, rap - mostly up-beat stuff! I am rarely in the mood for downer music! | | Movies | I am mostly an action junkie...but enjoy just about anything (to include girly movies!!) | | Television | I have not had TV for two years now. I have to say that it is the best thing I have ever done for myself and my family. We get so much more done these days. We do rent a lot of movies though!
Don't get me wrong...I would love to have discovery, TLC, the history channel, the military channel, animal planet - and any other station that I could learn something from. I just can't justify having 200 channels tempting me (and my family) with brainless mind numbing content surrounding the 6 or so channels that I wouldn't mind watching. It just seems like there is something better to do with my time! | | Books | (Is there an input limit on this field?) ..
I don't really have time for dime novels and the like. I spend most of my time reading technical books (sorry for the detail) on the all mighty throne. Talk about multitasking! | | Heroes | Growing up I don't think I really had the traditional hero to look up to. I grew up watching Arnold, Sylvester, Bruce (and various other action heroes) on the big screen. Not sure if that counts or not. (I did end up going in the army if that says anything) After getting out of the Army, having a family, and finally growing up (yes...in that order) - I have come to really appreciate my parents. The things I despised as a kid...I now respect. |
