Music should sound like the blood moving through our vessels.
There’s a steady flow, there’s a constantly changing pace as well.
Changing, but not random.
There are stories in our blood; stories carried through the core of our beings by the blood.
Why can’t we play those stories into music?
Why so much added-on ‘interest’, which only obscures the truly relevent?
Steady pulse, reassuringly constant, holding us up. Surging with passion and intelligence, but always seeking a steadiness as well.
Music should be like the stories in our blood.
Pulsing, constant, deep.
There are stories in our blood even we don’t know. How are we to hear these stories? Leave it to the rational life?
Thank you my real-life and somewhat old friend. I guess 40 years of friendship counts as old. Best to you with the release party, the tour with Phillip, your, growing family - everything man, everything. See you soon - safe journeys. Love-Peace, Chris
