   About Andrew Taylor

Sometimes I like to lose myself while playing music, a lot of different stuff comes out. The songs on this page are mainly in the singer/songwriter vein but I've also written ambient and electro under the alias 'ajt' (see top friends!).

Although I mainly work alone alone I collaborate now and then, here are some of the people whose reputations I've tarnished;

Steve Cobby (Fila Brazillia) and Porky (Pork Recordings) who are 'The Cutler', I provide vocals on 'Pyramid of Power' from their 'Black Flag EP', now available on i-tunes.

The Cutler Black Flag EP. Go to their website for a link where you can buy this EP of top notch tunes. I provide vocals for a track called

'the24thofjune' named after our shared birthdays and, on average, the happiest day of the year! . The other half being' Sharp Scratch'.

'The Challenge of Feral Green', an outfit I formed with Sebastian Rogers touring with Catherine Feeny and Jacob Golden.

'Tom Hiscox'; we wrote a song about Che Guevara called 'Where Are My Hands?'. Follow the links to all these artists in my top friends.

laying down some tracks

I first learnt the guitar playing along to Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells. My first instrument was made from a cereal box, a kitchen roll tube and some elastic bands.

I've always got my fingers in more than one pie. At the moment I am working on a lengthy instrumental piece, featuring guitars, mandolins, bazoukis, recorders, glockenspiels, a zither, a couple of 1970's synths, loads of percussion and whatever else will fit in there. I've also stockpiled an unhealthy number of songs for future albums, if only I had the time to work on them all!

There are a handful of 'the inside of a mirror' CDs available. This album features many of the songs that have appeared on this page. The best way to get a copy is to come see me at a gig.

the inside of a mirror sleeve

My latest album was available as a free download but myspace seem to disable code that will take you anywhere away from their site, even if I'm making no money from it! Anyway, it's a collection of one take wonders! The songs were mostly recorded the same night as they were written and have been left nude and naked (as Rober Wyatt would say!). I've been sitting on them for ages so thought I'd better get them out there lest they die of loneliness. So if you want a free copy get in touch and I'll provide with the website address where the free download is hosted.

I love making music for film, if you're a film-maker get in touch.

Come see us at the Marquee in Norwich on October 30th - a Halloween gig and we'll be previewing songs from our new album.... DO IT (come on, I don’t wanna have to cut you - you understand)

We’re trying to think up some ideas for what to dress up as. Suggestions please – if we do it we’ll get you a prize!

AND come see us at

Hi Andrew, a very warm welcome..
FRIEND VOTE is the place for Artists with Friends, not fans.  It's a page where you can find the very best music on Myspace by Artists that actually communicate with the people that take the time to comment on their pages.
To join in, all you need to do is ask your friends to vote for one of your songs, if you get enough votes you appear in the chart, if you appear in the chart you will get more friends, if you get to No.1 your page views and song plays will increase significantly!
All the best, hope to see you in the chart soon.  Keith@FV.

Hi Andrew.

Thank you very much.  I'm on late on the 16th I think, because I'm playing at the Uh-Ohs album launch beforehand at Take 5.  I do do that stuff live.  I'm part of that pedally, looping crew...just with a mandolin.  I love your ajt stuff by the way.

Mmmmh, Phillip Glass. x
