   About Andrew Taylor

Hello,

Sometimes I like to lose myself while playing music, quite alot of different stuff comes out. The songs on this page are in the singer/songwriter vein but I've also written a lot of ambient and electronica under the psuedonym 'ajt'(see top friends!).

Although I mainly work alone alone I do collaborate now and then, here are some of the people whose reputations I've tarnished;

Steve Cobby (Fila Brazillia) and Porky (Pork Recordings) who are 'The Cutler'.

'the24thofjune' named after our shared birthdays and, on average, the happiest day of the year! . The other half being' Sharp Scratch'.

'The Challenge of Feral Green', an outfit I formed with Sebastian Rogers touring with Catherine Feeny and Jacob Golden.

I first learnt the guitar playing along to Mike Oldfield's Tubular Bells. My first instrument was made from a cereal box, a kitchen roll tube and some elastic bands. Nowadays I have a real guitar and play out and about with my various projects.

laying down some tracks

I have always got my finger in more than one pie. At the moment I am working on a lengthy instrumental piece, featuring guitars, mandolins, glockenspiels and a couple of 1970's synths, and a new album of songs, which I am recording live. I have also just finished an album of electronica beats with retro synth sounds which you can find over on my ajt page should the interest take yer.

The album 'the inside of a mirror' is now available, featuring many of the songs from this site.

To read a review of the album, cut and paste this link into your address bar; http://songbytoad.com/2008/06/05/andrew-taylor-the-inside-of-a-mirror/

You can make a secure payment of £7 with any type of card by clicking on the buy now button. This covers postage to anywhere in the world from the UK

Some of you may know about the band I was in for a while; The Challenge of Feral Green. I'm giving you the chance to buy the very limited edition 5-track EP we made. To give you a taster 'Your Little Race' is up on the player. They're shrinkwrapped and £4 which includes postage.

the Challenge of Feral Green EP. A project I was involved in for a while, we made some cool music!

I must give a word out to Danny Wilson who made such beautiful album artwork for me which adorns the CD and the backdrop of this page.

I occasionally record under the pseudonym ajt. The latest album under this moniker is ". This is a somewhat ambient affair and was partly inspired by a visit to the Inch Peninsula in Co. Kerry, Ireland. The album is limited edition with only 50 available, they're running out fast. Tracks include 'inch' and 'menwith hill part 1'. Available for £3 inc. postage to anywhere in the world.

. An album recorded by my alter ego ajt.

One of my passions is making music for film. If any film makers require original music I have a large back catalogue but also get excited about making original music for specific projects.

Hey Mr. T,

There's a new Barba Moreno/Nick Worrall collaboration, "Mercurial" posted on the B.M. MySpace page.

Check it out if you get a few minutes.

I hope the "Heart Of Gold" show went well. I Haven't seen that film yet. Would've loved to have caught the show if I could've got there, sounded like a real two-for-one bargain for all those lucky punters. You oughta think about getting the freaky synths out and doing "Human Highway" sometime in your A.J.T. guise. I'd definitely make it for that one...

Take care,

Dean.

Hey Andrew,

Thanks for the kind words mate. No, I've only done the one track with "The Culter" so perhaps there's a doppleganger out there;)

I'm glad I've come across you're music - its great to hear the acoustic and real songs.

Maybe in future we could do a couple of gigs together.

Keep in touch

Thanks for the message Andrew.

Really enjoyed your set on tuesday, particularly your fine rendition of what is probably my favourite Neil Young song (Lotta Love).

Hope to see you on the 14th.
