Andris Erglis

Born in Aizpute, district of Liepaja, on 16 January 1983. Capricorn. Moved to live in Liepaja at the age of 15. Andris Erglis has been on the stage since early youth, performing at the district dance parties together with his father already at the age of 11. He found himself on the horns of a dilemma time and time again – either to sing, or play the drums – for Andris is a professional percussionist (he also plays in Liepaja Symphonic Orchestra). In 2001, he founded a band called “Berm”, which received the first prize in the festival “Liepajas Dzintars” in 2003. Andris Erglis appeared on the stage also as a solo performer and participated in the concerts of famous Swedish composer and pianist Robert Wells. He is a finalist of “Sony Jazz Stage” competition.
In 2006, together with the former guitarist of the groups “Livi” and “Fomins & Kleins” Tomass Kleins, founds a band called ”Cacao”. In this band, Andris combines both playing the drums and singing at the same time. The debut album of the band is coming out in September 2007, produced by “Microphone Records”.
Andris Erglis was included into the Latvian pop-music tenor “selection” Bonaparti.lv and, convincingly coming out on top of the National Eurovision Selections, with dignity represented Latvia at the international Eurovision Song Contest 2007 finals in Helsinki with a song in Italian “Questa Notte”. Maestro Raimonds Pauls also spots the young rising star and puts him forward for the international song contest for young singers “New Wave” 2007, taking place in Jurmala every year. Maestro Raimonds Pauls says concerning the new singer’s chances: “In every respect, he is one of our rare young singers who have voice…”

Andris Erglis has graduated from Emils Melngailis Music College of Liepaja, percussion specialisation, and still studies at Pedagogical Academy of Liepaja. Has been working as a percussionist at Liepaja Symphonic Orchestra already for three years. Characterises himself as a practical, simple and kind-hearted person. Likes sweets, music and young ladies. The favourite brand of apparel – Hugo Boss. The largest winning – 2 lats in a moment lottery. Eye colour – brown. In childhood wished to become a chef.

Dzimis 1983.gada 16.janvari Aizpute, Liepajas rajona. Me--azis. 15 gadu vecuma parcelies uz dzivi Liepaja. Erglis uz skatuves ir no agras jaunibas un jau 11 gadu vecuma sacis uzstaties rajona ballites kopa ar savu tevu. Ne reizi vien bijis dilemmas priek--a – dziedat vai spelet bungas, jo Andris ir profesionals sitamo instrumentu specialists (muzice ari Liepajas Simfoniskaja orkestri). 2001.gada dibinajis grupu “Berm”, ar kuru 2003. gada ieguva pirmo vietu festivala “Liepajas dzintars”. Andris Erglis muzicejis ari ka solo makslinieks un piedalijies slavena Zviedru komponista un pianista Roberta Velsa koncertos. Iekluvis konkursa “Sony Jazz Stage” finala. Kop-- 2006.gada kopa ar biju--o grupu “Livi” un “Fomins & Kleins” gitaristu Tomasu Kleinu dibina grupu “Cacao”. --aja grupa Andris vienlaicigi apvieno bungu spele--anu ar dzieda--anu. Grupas debijas albums iznaks 2007. gada Septembri “ Mikrofona ieraksti” apgada.

Andris Erglis tiek ielauts Latvijas popmuzikas tenoru “izlase” Bonaparti.lv un parliecino--i uzvarot Eirovizijas nacionalaja atlase, 2007. gada godam parstav Latviju “Eirovizijas” dziesmu konkursa starptautiskaja finala Helsinkos izpildot dziesmu “Questa Notte” italie--u valoda. Jauno un uzleco--o zvaigzni ievero ari Maestro Raimonds Pauls un piesaka vinu starptautiskajam dziedataju konkursam “Jaunais Vilnis” 2007 , kur-- katru gadu notiek Jurmala.

Par jauna dziedataja izredzem Maestro Raimonds Pauls saka: "Visada zina vinjaa ir viens no tiem retajiem musu jaunajiem dziedatajiem, kuram ir balss....”
