Fiery, politicised, acoustic thrashing, folk tinged, atheist gospel rock.
Hello, my name is Andrzej. I am a folksinger currently living, and gigging, in Manchester. I like to hit my guitar really hard and wail about things that mean something to me....
I do my own booking and will pretty much play for a pat on the head and a sandwich- so if you want me to play at your pub, bar, cafe, bookshop, protest, picket line, basement, mainstage or house party then you can email me at andrzejjstepien-at-hotmail.com.
A have a split EP out with fellow Wildcat, Al Baker! There is a recommended price of £3, but if you can't afford it, please either haggle or grab the free downloads off mine and Al's respective soundclick pages!
We're about to record a new EP but can't decide which songs to put on it. To avoid any more 'heated debates' we've decided to let the good people of the internet decide.
If you've got a spare few minutes, please head over to http://www.naomihateshumans.com - have a listen to the songs and rate them. We promise to stand by the opinions of the interweb. Even if you are wrong.
Hey man, how's it going? I'm looking at putting another Flagsapalooza-style event on again down here in Tref, would you fancy playing? I'm thinking Early Feb sort of time. We're gonna get some amps and mics sorted in advance this time too!
Hey mate, thanks muchly for coming down and playing last night, really enjoyed set! Sorry I wasn't up to see you guys off this morning, ended up crashing rather late(/early?). Did you guys get back alright?
I'm planning on another one or two of these in the new year, would you be up for coming down for another one?
The Basement Studio is now running free open access sessions in Bristol again. These sessions are for young people at all levels of music interest and experience. There are two areas: Live music – with drum kit, bass, electric or acoustic guitars, keyboard and mics; Urban music – with music tech, DJing and MCing. There are 3x 40 min slots in each area every session. Each area is run by a tutor who will talk to you about what you want to do - and help you do it. There are also youth workers who can help you get info and advice on anything you need to know about and are generally up for a chat. They can also help you get certificates such as National Youth Achievement Awards or Arts Awards – either for the music you make or for other projects. Call the Basement (0117) 934 9013 for more info – or just turn up. We’re at the Unicorns, Colston Street (next to Colston Hall), on Tues and Thurs eves, 7.30-10pm. When you’re standing in front of Colston Hall there’s an archway directly to the right. Walk through there, make for the double brown doors (next to the bins) – through them and downstairs to the Unicorns.
For more info please contact us on 0117 934 9013 or email us info(at)basementstudio.co.uk.
Sing, Sweat and Shout, our summer compilation is available for free right now. If you want a copy (and you should, 'cos it's awesome) then click on the link above or go to myspace.com/cleanslaterecords and get in touch or go to the Clean Slate Records website for a downloadable version! If you want to put the banner on your page then we will love you forever. Really.
I hope ya all having fun while chipping away at the institutions and structures of power and domination that plague us and our beautiful Earth. Structures that allow an elite minority to sustain power privilege at the expense of the majority - Capitalism!
Feel free to have a listen to my new song 'Haiti, I know'. It deals with the 500 years of imperialist aggression that has faced the people of Haiti, which continues to this day. Peace and solidarity Milts
Hi Andrzej - enjoyed your tracks a lot tonight. I grew up loving Billy Bragg and Make that Break is the first political one i've got round to doing. All the very best with it, Peter
