MySpace a place for friends

...and then nothing is an experimental band that hails from Winnipeg, MB. We often juxtapose film and other visual artforms with music in a hazardous unplanned way to see what effect it will give. Sometimes the results are startling! The band rarely stays the same. Other than Ivan Burke, Derrick Finch and Stéphane Oystryk, the band is in constant change. That's the way we like it. We love to share songs with our friends and see what they have to contribute creatively. We've rarely played more than two shows with the same line-up. The musicians and the songs are always evolving so everything is a snapshot in time. A moment to be cherished and not taken for granted. We try to keep things fresh. We just love music and sounds. Hopefully we'll put out a CD or something soon. There's a compilation out there with our only studio recorded song, Late November, Nothern Michigan. It's called the Winnipeg Parks and Recreation Authority. The CD was put out by a great group of folks called Conifera Records. Last we heard they were no more. That's really unfortunate. Hopefully they'll come back from the dead! There are a whole pile of great bands on that disc so if there are still copies kicking around somewhere (Music Trader or Into the Music in Winnipeg perhaps...), ask no questions and get it! BenWah was the recording engineer for that tune and we really appreciate his patience and his willingness to help up and coming bands who want to put their sound down on CD. He's been a great help!

...and then nothing est un métissage d'influences musicales qui ne connait aucune frontière linguistique ou sonore. Les musiciens sont rarement pareils lors des prestations du groupe. Stéphane Oystryk, Derrick Finch et Ivan Burke forme le coeur du groupe et sont accompagnés sur scène par une variété de musiciens qui interprètent les compositions à leur façon. Celà assure que le groupe est en évolution constante. Les chansons ne restent jamais pareils. L'absence des paroles représente un élément abstrait qui permet aux auditeurs de choisir comment ils veulent s'identifier à chaque chanson. En plus de l'élément sonore, and then nothing se présente souvent sur scène avec des éléments visuels qui varie de films expérimentaux à des diapositives. C'est l'interaction entre la musique, les éléments visuels et les auditeurs qui fait d'un spectacle de and then nothing une occasion spéciale. Tout le monde sort de l'expérience avec une interprétation unique du spectacle. Leur ami BenWah était le technicien pour l'enregistrement de la chanson Late November, Northern Michigan qui est parue sur la compilation Winnipeg Parks and Recreation Authority lancé par la maison de disque Conifera Records en novembre de l'année 2004.
