Liam's Interests
|
| General | Writing, reading, plucking the five-string banjer, enjoying a long smoke of Navy Cut tobacco, and traveling the wide world in search of inspiration -- whether it be in the curve of a beautiful lass's neck or the whisper of the wind through the dogwood trees. | | Music | Scots, Irish and English songs of drinking, murder and rebellion | | Movies | I don't often make it out to the nickelodeon, but I do love such picture shows as The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari, Der Letzte Mann, and Nosferatu | | Books | The Odyssey, Beowulf, The Mabinogion, Idylls of the King, The Saga of the Volsungs, The Tain, Ulysses, The Cikts | | Heroes | My second cousin Alasdair, who though blind and half-crippled by polio still manages to eke out a living as a rickshaw runner in the Bangkok backstreets. Bravo, my good man! |

Liam's Blurbs |
About me:
I was born in London, England, the Son of a Scottish fishmonger and an Austrian whore. After my parents' lives were prematurely ended in an amber-fishing accident off the eastern Baltic Coast, I was sent to America to live with my widower uncle in the handsome rivertown of Louisville, Kentucky. It was there as a youth I was mentored by Xavier Haverdash, English professor and one of the literary world's greatest yet tragically unknown talents. He fostered me. Taught me to pleasure in the written word, and urged me to find my creative voice. Now all these years later, I write more than I speak. Find more delight putting ink to paper than whiskey to tongue. And I revel in every breath, seeking out beauty, contentment and all things new. As my father used to say as he raised a frosty pint of his beloved Smithwick's, “May the road rise up to meet you, and the wind be ever at your back.”
