"It took Andy Bell twenty years to get around to presenting his first a solo statement on electronic dance-pop. Of course he was been a tad busy selling millions of records alongside Erasure partner Vince Clarke, but in 2005 he found time to bring us fourteen personal tracks collectively called Electric Blue. Co-written and recorded with Manhattan Clique the album features duets with Claudia Brucken (Propaganda and Act) and Jake Shears (Scissor Sisters) and embraces a surprising range of sounds. The expected camp-house anthems ('Caught In A Spin', lead single 'Crazy') are contrasted by grittier material like the futuristic title track and 'I'll Never Fall In Love Again', and periodically punctuated by romantic ballads such as 'Runaway' and 'Fantasy'. Andy has also recently started working with Vince Clarke on the new Erasure album which will be released towards the end of 2010...
