   About Andy & Denise

“See Me” featured on the WB’s “One Tree Hill” in 2004

Plowshares Songwriting Contest Finalists 2003

John Lennon Songwriting Contest – Honorable Mention for “South” and “Go”

Omen Productions included “Sienna” in their extreme skiing video “ah-MIG-da-la”

“Denise has one of those voices that sounds like she is smiling as she sings. Together, their equally strong voices often cross gender-defining pitch boundaries; a pleasant change that not all duos can handle. Listeners comfortable with David Wilcox and Eddie From Ohio will make familiar guitar and vocal connections.”
-Angela Page, SingOut Magazine

“The charisma between the two is what steals the show.”
-Ben Howard, PhillyScene.org

Andy & Denise are acoustic singer/songwriters who feature well crafted songs, compelling harmonies, and Andy’s intricate guitar playing which often adds a ‘third voice’ to their songs. They are happy to announce the release of two new CD’s: “Covers” and Andy’s solo acoustic instrumental CD “The Long Walk Home”. These join their two previous releases “Go” and “Sunlight In Goodbye”.

Andy & Denise are from the Philadelphia area and have been performing along the east coast for a number of years. They have played in coffeehouse series, house concerts, colleges and music festivals including The Minstrel Coffeehouse (NJ), Godfrey Daniel’s (PA), 333 Coffeehouse (MD), Eddie's Attic (GA), The Point (PA), The Six String Cafe (NC), The Bluebird Cafe (TN), The Goodfolk Coffeehouse (CT), Moore Music in the House (MD), Delaware Friends of Folk Coffeehouse, the Brierfield Music Festival (AL), Delmarva Folk Festival (DE) and the Forksville Folk Festival (PA). Whatever the setting they are fun and engaging to watch!

Andy Fox cut his teeth on the Boston music scene, playing in a number bands while attending Berklee College of Music. Denise O'Brien moved to New York to pursue acting and has performed in numerous commercials, soaps and theater. She has also created a line of handmade items under the label d’Pholk Crafts.

Andy & Denise also run their own music recording studio called Gemini Squared Studios. Through their combined talents they are able to produce, record and mix music for other artists. Some of the projects they have produced are “Engine” by We're About 9, “God’s Poet Now” by Erik Balkey, and “Another Tourist” by Eliot Bronson.

Greetings fellow earthlings! Hope all is well with you. I just put 2 and 2 together and thought you may like to listen to my former student's group. They are called The Low Anthem, and they are -I think- brilliant songwriters, as I also think you guys are brilliant songwriters. They are kind of Folk/Americana style, and they use some unusual, yet very effective instruments, such as a World War 1 pump organ (I had never heard one before and have no idea of what it looks like, but its sound is really sweet, yet haunting) They are creating quite a buzz, they were part of an online feature by Rolling Stone mag, and recently released their second CD. My former student, Jeff, was originally (and still is) a bass player, and now he plays many different instruments. It is weird to think I used to teach him 8 years ago, when he was 15-16 years old, and as incredibly talented as I thought he was back then, I would have never guessed he would become such a great musician and do this full time, Anyway, here's their page: http://www. myspace. com/lowanthem
Check them out, I feel you may like their music.

All the best to you, as always!

Take care,

A.

At the end of the day people are just human and perfectly fallible. Still, I understand sometimes we just want to kick someone in the head...and that is also human. I can relate to your feeling of frustration.

Thanks!...You are right! I am going to launch a web music store...long story! However, I know nothing about being a sales guy,
and there is a steep learning curve (I will have tech support, though) and if I make it work out, I might make enough dough to quit my day job...I can't stand bosses anymore!!!
