Here is what the Press is saying about
Barrio Latino ………
“It’s hard to pin down the musical style of Barrio Latino. And that’s exactly the way the band likes it”. Like a smorgasbord laid out buffet style, listeners are in for a treat when the Arizona band begins to dish out a little bit of this and a little bit of that”. “Barrio Latino can begin a set with a spicy salsa, groove its way into classic rhythm and blues, switch to bouncy top-40 dance mix and end with a sweet melody that is so soft and sensuous it immediately conjures up feelings of romance.
Scottsdale Life Magazine July 2002
Barrio Latino “blends an eclectic array of musical styles, which makes it difficult to pigeonhole this talented group”.
Arizona Foothills Magazine September 2002
“Above all, this band show the music and its audience total respect”. “These musicians have a clear idea what they want to achieve with every expression”. “The first impression, like a punch in the face, is Andy Gonzales pumping aggressive bass that builds a stable musical fundament for the group”. “Then Andy Gonzales picks up the guitar for a sensitive acoustic song in Spanish together with the vocalist Jennifer Rico. For her it is about dynamics, the skill to let an old worn out ‘Mercedes Benz or “Summertime” sound like her own and still new and exciting”.
