Triathlons, my family, my work, music, miniature wargaming, wine, guitar, art, travel, the beach (or my pool is a pretty close second).
Music
Yes... all of it. Current faves: New Johnny Cash, Trip-hop, the 'Singing Playlist' for road trips with my daughter Meg, Wyclef Jean, stuff I can play on the guitar (which means 'sounds good, but simple'). G. Love & The special sauce -- Lemonade is a great album. Get it! Also, atmosphere, most acid jazz, occasional regression to my Van Halen period, Cake, Bob Schneider.
Movies
They're pretty cool too... old war movies, suspense, action, classics... on a Ridley Scott binge lately. Stuff I come back to: Harold & Kumar, Super Troopers, Alien (any of them), vampire flicks (c'mon -- you know you think Blade is cool and that John Carpenter's "Vampires" is hilarious... admit it.) Boondock Saints, Charlie's Angels, CaddyShack, Event Horizon, The Duellists, Bridge on the River Kwai, 2001, Clockwork Orange, Akira, Clueless, and so forth.
Television
Wish I had more time... Lost, Firefly, Battlestar, reality TV (in the "I love to hate it" category).
Books
Like them too... lots of them. Classic SF and Fantasy, Business books... you name it. Some good ones lately: George R.R. Martin series, "How Capitalism Saved America", "Tipping Point", rereading Robert Graves "I, Claudius". Check out "The Thought Gang" as well as "Resume with Monsters".
About me: Al Gore is my homeboy!
About me? Well... entertaining, fruity with a touch of nuttiness, ribald, and frighteningly intelligent begin to describe it. So do overbearing, arrogant, and prone to yelling. Did I mention arrogant??? I'm half owner of the baddest-ass web marketing company ever. Period. If you disagree, then get in touch and I'll prove it. Definitely arrogant.
You want to be friends... that would be fine. No really. It would.
Thanks for coming!!
Who I'd like to meet: Many people... Kevin Smith, Trey Parker, Paula Zahn, Warren Buffett, Tibor Fischer, Sue Bird, Lance Armstrong, Floyd Landis, Denzel Washington, Bill Murray, John Cleese, Monica Bellucci, Stephen King, Ricky Gervais.
Oh... you mean on MySpace... I gee, I dunno.
hello mr beedle! i hear you just had a birthday. Happy Birthday! i hope you have many more and i hope i can show you some cool magic tricks i learned with balloons soon.
well actually its gonna be a martin dx1 from kelleys. its used but you would still be surprised at the sound that thing puts out, its pretty sweet. i hope to be picking it up sometime today!
Buying 10 copies out of sheer generosity is ... well, generous. Yahoo. Thanks. EPD has not offered to buy.. only to destroy me. Hmm. Maybe I can get a bidding war going here.
And this zombie invasion you speak of, yes, I've read about it and have the manual for defending myself. Actually, it was a gift I reneged on giving. It seemed too important once I started reading about the impending invasion. Inconsiderate of me, I know. I'm hoping there is still time enough to read the book and pass it along to my friend, who will, I hope, have time to read it as well before faced with a full-blown zombie attack. You have a copy, I hope. ??
That's it. You're entered. And just in time, too. We're about the pick the first winner. You'll have to come back and enter every week if you don't win this time. But think of how many chances you have to win. You could somehow sabotage everyone else, perform some technical magic spell on our comments block that only allows responses from you. That's fine by us. That's just the sort of desperation we're looking for, the kind of cutthroat competition we're hoping to inspire. You'll have to fight EPD to the death, though. He's threatening bodily harm to me personally, so the cards are already stacked against you. Sorry. You strike me as a bit of an extremist yourself. I see you have a bunch of guns strapped across your chest there. Argh! Harm to some!?
so yeah...running into andy beedle in starbucks had a lot more benefits than this "drivers ed" im being forced to take...I have yet to test the feat that is the Beedle pool so I'll be over soon my friend.
