Andy first started playing drums at the age of 3. As the son of a bass player, his father (Mike Boterman of Whiskey River Fame) nurtured his playing from the beginning. When middle school came he began playing with the Jazz band and then in high school as a freshman, Andy made the top jazz band that Coon Rapids high school had to offer. After high school He decided to head to UMD to pursue their Jazz Studies program and study with Dave Schmalenberger, but left early to begin playing with The Nathan Anderson Project. Over the years, He has played with many bands in northern Minnesota, and the Twin Cities. The Nathan Anderson Project, SD3, Textbook Ninja, Q Public, Brian Naughton and The Prophets of Soul just to name a few. Andy is currently playing with Greenstar in Missoula, MT.
