Andy Collins, formerly of the band Handcrash (airplay on CFOX, song blind on Seeds 12 CD, song Dreamer used on the soundtrack of the movie Wilma's Secret), is one of the best up and coming singer/songwriters in the Vancouver music scene. Drawing upon personal experience, and his own style of acoustic and electric sounds, Andy's songs are well crafted, intense, and contain a dark edge that provides the listener with a story on every line.
Influenced by such legendary acts as the Beatles, Led Zeppelin, and Neil Young, as well as current artists like Pete Yorn, David Gray and Beck, Andy has developed his own voice in the world of the singer/songwriter.
Andy has been playing shows around Vancouver at such venues as the Plaza, the Railway Club, the Piccadilly Pub, the Media Club, the Backstage Lounge, the Lamplighter and Richards on Richards among others. He and his band have been warmly received, sharing the stage with such acts as Wil -EMI recording artist, Gordie Sampson Maple recording artist, Bocephus King, and Kevin Kane of Grapes of Wrath fame. Andy plans to release his 7 song EP, produced by Drew Arnott (co-founder of Strange Advance) with help from Lenny DeRose (Nelly Furtado), in the spring of 2008 and is currently preparing for further touring.
