Andy Dreads alias Andy Looney Toons's desire to create music presented itself at a very early age with the urge to play on them pots and pans etc. As a teenager he played in funk metal / Thrash - punk bands. His style of writing has varied over the years due to changing technology and times although it has always maintained a tribal flavour ranging from trippy early morning acid techno to driving peak time tunes.
Andys dance nights, Looney Toons and subsequently Footprint were established in early 1996 and were very influencial nights in the area with many other dance nights following in his footsteps. A major player and inspiration on the North Wales FREE PARTY SCENE.
He has always avoided the temptation to play or produce commercial dance music (Ibiza cheddar) as his passion has always been for techno & electronic which just so happens to be far away from the mainstream. This has often proved to be a struggle (esp from a financial point) but he has always strived to play something a bit different, he is currently working on a new form of complex syncopated techno.
Andy describes his music as progressive & spined, the basis of which is either a bounce or tribal groove. His music is not particularly hard or banging and isnt played any faster than other forms of dance music (137 bpm) but incorporates an established groove that stimulates movement. Due to the success of a three track session on BBC Radio Cymru in 2002, his aim is to continue providing an alternative form of dance music to the people of Wales and beyond with the advent his debut album......................................................................................................... Er bod y math gerdd a gynhyrchwyd wedi newid dros y blynyddoedd oherwydd technoleg ac yn y blaen, maer cariad gyda cerdd treib wedi aros ac maer cerdd y maen gynhyrchu y dyddiau yma yn ymestyn o gerdd treib asid I gerdd symudol caletach, maer cerdd yma wedi ei driol dro ar ol tro yn y clubiau lleol ac yn cael effaith dymunol.
Mi ddaeth y nosweithiau Looney Toons a Footprint Ir fan yn 1996 a mi redodd ymlaen am flynyddoedd gyda ambell noson arall yn ei ddilyn.
Mae Andy wedi osgoi y temtasiwn I chwarae a cynhyrchu cerdd poblogaeth ac mae o wedi aros yn fyddlon Ir cerdd electronic a yw techno. Mae o yn gweithio ar math newydd o gerdd ar y foment, cerdd mwy cymleth llawn rhyddm sydd yn anoddach Iw gynhyrchu nar cerdd caled rhydd.
