Andy Gallagher: "Pure melody, welded to bone cracking music"
Andy Gallagher: Vocalist, Guitarist, Songwriter, originally from the west coast of America (Los Angeles, California), He now lives on the west coast of Scotland (Millport, Isle Of Cumbrae), where he spends a lot of his time writing songs and performs them either as a solo artist or with his alternative rock band Andy Gallagher & Overhaul.
In October 2005 Andy put the finishing touches on his Debut album Hope Shines Through. The album was coproduced by Geoff Allen, who has worked with the likes of Foo Fighters, Mogwai, Aereogram, Arab Strap and West Life. The album was recorded at Cava Recording Studios in Glasgow, Scotland. Hope Shines Through was one of the last albums to be recorded in Studio One at Cava, and shortly after, studio one was closed and demolished to make way for car parking. The album was released the following year on Purple Bushbaby Music through CD BABY
In February 2006 Andy opened for Legendary American Cult band Violent Femmes on their 25th Anniversary tour in Ireland. He has also opened for the Legendary Alternative rock band Dinosaur Jr at '07 T on the Fringe Festival. Other people he has opened for are The Tracie Hunter Band (Daughter of Ian Hunter of Mott The Hoople), Dom Brown (Current guitarist for Duran Duran, Take That...), Indie/Country/Pop band Absentee, Indie/Rock band Oversol, and Indie/Pop band Semifinalists. Along the line he has played in countless venues and has even played at Legendary venues such as Vicar St (Dublin, Ireland), Roisin Duhb (Galway, Ireland), King Tuts Wah Wah Hut (Glasgow, Scotland), The Liquid Rooms (Edinburgh, Scotland), The Borderline (London, England), The Cavern Club (Liverpool, England)
Currently Andy has finished recording his 2nd album with Victor Delorenzo (Violent Femmes) on Drums, Percussion and Backing Vocals and Mike Hoffmann (E.I.E.I.O and Guidos Race Car) on Bass Guitar, Backing Vocals and engineering....The album should be released later this year followed by a tour to promote the album
