'The singer for jawbreaker and Jets to Brazil was the same guy...?' And i really enjoyed your IMs with the kids and all the livejournal blogs. I can't imagine what you would have had in there if myspace was around. I can't describe how much i loved and enjoyed those books (i had to pause, put the book down and just smile strangely into space a few times). I'm actually interested in the cultural constructions of it in relation to self-mutilation. Getting my M.A. in English, but I'm keen on literary theory (gender/queer theory). I'm just curious as to someone's thoughts on the "cutting" stereotype found among the "emo" culture. You seem to be a major authority figure in the writing that surrounds the music/culture...

!HANNAH	Feb 26 2008 10:54 PM lately when i've opened my mailbox, and there's a new issue of spin waiting for me inside, i don't get very excited. i usually flip through it once or twice. the magazine then lands in a pile along with quite a few other issues of spin, that are later used to create artwork for future mix cds. however, yesterday was a totally different experience. i opened up the magazine and began to flip through. my eyes landed on the name 'andy greenwald', and i immediately knew that this issue wouldn't end up in that pile. basically, i was super happy to find read some of your writing, it's been too long! : ]
