   About Andy Hickie

“You will fall in love with his songs” - Bethan Elfyn, BBC Radio 1.

“This Troubadour will do North Wales proud.” - Adam Walton, BBC Radio Wales.

Andy Hickie is a roaming singer songwriter from the mountains of North Wales.

After ‘working his soul dry’ to buy a camper van, Andy’s master plan is well into effect – to keep on moving, searching for enlightenment and inspiration along the way…

For the past year and a half he has followed the trail blazed by troubadours like Martin Carthy and Bert Jansch, travelling around the major cities and towns of Ireland, England and Wales, gigging, busking, collecting stories and sharing his songs and music the old fashioned way.

His desire to reach more people with his music led Andy to Wrexham, North Wales, to record his debut e.p “The Other Man” and also to the conception of “The Merry Maidens” representatives from many fine bands on the Wrexham and North Wales scene who you can see ably backing Andy at the full band live shows.

Andy embarked on a solo UK tour throughout the Spring living out on the road in his trusty camper van. Now with a string of festival appearances lined up for the summer with The Merry Maidens which includes Glastonbury Festival through Q magazine’s ‘Glastonbury New Talent’ competition Andy is looking forward to the good times ahead.

And remember… THE ROAD TO HAPPINESS LEADS NOWHERE, HAPPINESS IS THE ROAD. X ..

not long to go now 'til Manchester's most exciting new festival, A Day At The Races, which has now moved from New Century House to the Night & Day and Moho Live - a ticket gets you a wristband, which lets you hop between the two venues and witness...

tickets selling fast; snap 'em up and see you there!

Hello.. Thank-you for being here now...

WHAT LOVE IS ...

I've been reachin' out for somethin',
I heard from somewhere that we could be more...
Do a little searchin' do a little growin'
finding windows where there were only walls...

Please don't pass that buck no more,
We are the ones we've been waiting for...

Stillness speaks
From inside of me
I close my eyes
But now I see...
We'll all soon know
What has always been ..and ..
What love is

Love all ways
