| General | I may have to sound earnest now. I am interested in music in culture, the complexity of the role of music in peoples lives, it has so much power. I'm lucky to have a life in music, I have met the most unique and wonderful people, it always surprises and delights me. I'm interested in promoting cultural life in the area in which I live. I take much inspiration in my life from nature, it is always there for me. I am lucky to have had the opportunity to travel, I try my best to travel with some purpose, and music is a great means to do that. I love jungles and rainforests, of course this is being said from a protected and priviliged position of never having had to carve out a living from them! I like beaches, mountains, lakes, rivers, fresh air. I like autumn and spring in particular. I like dancing, don't do it enough! I like reading sometimes, other times I like just sitting and thinking. More and more I am liking silence. Sometimes I go home early from a party yawning and sometimes I'm the last one to go to bed. If there is good jamming happening, and funny people that make me laugh, it will more likely be the latter. Why am I saying all this? About me:
I am a guitarist, singer and songwriter from Vancouver. I founded the band Mad Pudding and toured with them through the 1990's, releasing 4 CD's, and am now touring and playing with The McDades (www.myspace.com/themcdades) and fiddler Jaime RT. I have spent a lot of time directing choirs and teaching music to youth and amateur adult musicians as well, something I love. Don't be fooled by these harmless sounding endeavours, I'm actually mean and nasty and feared by many. As you can see by my photo. Grrrrr.
