Andy Juhl has been an active guitarist in the Minneapolis music scene. He spent the last few years as guitarist for the experimental rock outfit The Trimmed Hedges and is currently the guitarist/vocalist for the progressive rock group the Pharaohs of Rhythm. In 2007, he released his debut solo album, "A Simple Life on Land," which is a collection of songs that display an impressive range of acoustic and electric styles.
Andy has returned in 2008 with his second album of folk-rock gems titled "Tales from the Buffalo Blue Stem." Each song contains a story. The haunting banjo chords in “Send the Rain” set the tone for the tale of a farmer struggling through the Dust Bowl. “An Unknown Friend” explores the troubled mind of a burned out soldier. A conniving old man with a little secret is the protagonist of “Umbrella Man.” “Feeling Bliss” is the story of an all-night jam session, while “We Belong to the Earth” is a catchy, environmentally conscience tune that will surely have your foot tapping. The songs have an old-school feel that brings to mind Neil Young or The Band. No studio trickery or layered overdubs, just Andy with a tight group of talented musicians sitting down together to play some quality music.
Andy received an honorable mention by the Independent Singer-Songwriter Association for “We Belong to the Earth” in their 2008 songwriting contest.
Andy's music has also attracted the attention of several music supervisors who have licensed his music to be used on the following television show: MTV's The Hills, Road Rules, and The Real World; Lifetime's America's Psychic Challenge; and the Oxygen Network's Bad Girls Club.
Andy was selected to play at the 2008 Stone Arch Festival in the Minneapolis Riverfront District. He was also chosen to play at the first Mid-American Music Festival in Omaha, Nebraska. In addition to these festivals, Andy performed at the 2008 Minnesota State Fair.
Andy has been invited to play at the 2009 Red Gorilla Music Festival in Austin, Texas which coincides with the South By Southwest Festival.

Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
